  • Open Doors; Learn to Read

    Funded Dec 23, 2022

My students use the materials during centers. In one center they build words using Word Building Tiles. In another center, they practice sight words using the Textured Rubbing Plates. My student's favorite center is using the sand and the the Uppercase and Lowercase Dough Stampers! They do not get tired of using the Mold Play Sensory Sand!

My students were in awe when they saw the materials! They look forward to use the materials in centers daily!

As a follow up activity, my scholars create sentences with the sight words they make using the Textured Rubbing plates and the Word Building Tiles. This way they are integrating writing into reading and they love it!

Thank you so much for funding Open Doors, Learn to Read!”

  • Basic Basics

    Funded Jul 17, 2022

My students love using the pencil boxes daily. They help them keep their materials organized. They use the pencil sharpener when needed. It is very quiet and useful. My students use the pocket folders daily to put their work that has been completed. They also use the cardstock when I make books for them.

Some of the fun projects my students do is creating crafts with the colorful cardstock. Our next project will be to do turkeys and decorating them in disguises.

Thank you again for helping education and supporting my students!”

  • Here's the Deal, Rewarding Students Excellence!

    Funded Feb 26, 2021

I teach a face to face kindergarten class. My students LOVE the treasure chest toys that you so kindly funded. I use the treasure chest to motivate my students to do their homework, write in their journals, pass their sight word tests, demonstrate good behavior, and give their best effort. They also get rewarded for using their digital programs every week. My students were so happy to see these fun and cute toys! Their favorite is the Mini Plush Animal Toy Set!

The next steps will be to reward my students for taking and passing the Accelerated Reading test. We will begin these tests during the second part of the year.

Thank you so much for your kind contribution and supporting education!”

  • Here is the Deal - Fairy Tales Are Fun!

    Funded Oct 1, 2020

I teach a Launch Ed Kindergarten classroom (remote learning) using Microsoft Teams. My students have enjoyed listening to the books and have improved their reading comprehension skills such as: recognizing main ideas, characters, and main events of the stories.

These books had been used during whole and small group instruction. I read the books first and had discussions about the main story elements. Then I ask questions and the students work with their partners to solve them. During centers, the students do a drawing of the main character, the setting, or their favorite part of the story. They also are beginning to write a sentence that goes along with their picture.

My class's favorite books are the Three Little Pigs and the Little Red Hen. They like the morals of these stories.

Thank you so much for your support and kindness!”

  • 20/20 Perfect Vision for Math

    Funded Apr 18, 2020

I teach a kindergarten Launch Ed class (digital). I use the materials during whole class instruction and during math centers. My students loved the Geostix materials when we were learning 2 dimensionals shapes.

The students were very excited when they saw the double dice which we used to do addition. They also enjoyed the Build and Learn Geometric Shapes, which we used when the students learned 3 dimensionals shapes.

The next steps that my students will be learning will be using the double dice to do subtractions problems. We will be doing more addition and subtraction word problems using the self checking match up sets. The students will also be learning about graphing and using the graphing paper to graph about their favorite toys, ice cream, etc.

Thank you so much for your kindness and supporting my students!”

  • You Can Always Count on Math!

    Funded Aug 7, 2020

I teach Launch Ed which is digital instruction to all my students. I do my instruction through Microsoft Teams daily. I am using these materials during whole group instruction and during centers. Even though my students are on line, they love to see the materials and participate in class.

They particularly like the Early Math Activity Center where they learned to sort by size, by color, patterning, and counting. They are always engaged and motivated!

The next steps my students will be working on will be: counting from 11 to 20, comparing numbers, and solve addition and subtraction word problems. These materials will be helpful to my students to acquire those skills.

The students love the hands on materials and they look forward to using them everyday!

My students need to learn vocabulary words, especially my non English speakers. They will be learning new words by using the English Language Development Activity Cards. They will learn about ordinal numbers, parts of the body, prepositions, and using sequencing words.

My students said "when can we use the new stuff?" "This is awesome." My kindergarteners are learning number pairs for 10 and the Build A Number Houses will be perfect to practice this skills.
