  • Let's Get Flexible!

    Funded Sep 17, 2019

This project was all about putting more flexible seating options into our classroom. We received ball chairs and wobble stools and the kids couldn't be happier.

In our classroom, students get to choose where they would like to sit each time they choose a seat at a table. They now have comfortable seating options that allow them to move a little as they are sitting. This helps students to focus better because they are able to use some energy as they are working.

Students are more comfortable and have the power of choice. These have been wonderful and helpful additions to our classroom!”

  • Move It, Move It!

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

This donor's choose project included a trampoline and a stationary bike to use in our classroom. The students in the classroom this year are absolutely loving these new additions.

We have been using the trampoline in 2 main ways. The first is to help students who have trouble sitting still during the day. We will help them productively get their energy out so they are better able to focus! We have also been using it as a celebration center. Any time students do something kind or helpful or complete good quality work, they celebrate by taking jumps on the trampoline.

The bike is used any time we are on technology. We try to have students who again need a little extra movement to help keep them focused get on the bike so they can use their educational apps as they are biking along.

The students love these items and we are very grateful you chose our classroom to donate to!”

  • iPad... Modern Tech for All Students!

    Funded Nov 20, 2018

I want to take the time to send a huge thank you to you all. One iPad might not seem like a lot, but it has already been making such a large impact in the class. It has provided an additional student per rotation in both reading and math to access our educational programs which are helping them grow as learners. Over the course of one week, that provides close to 450 minutes of time on technology that we would have otherwise not had. The students are engaged and building their skills for a promising future. Thank you again, this gift has been amazing!”

  • Light Covers, Seats And An Organizer... Oh My!

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations. All of the materials have arrived and we couldn't be more grateful! The first to arrive were the light covers. I set them up when the students were at lunch and their reactions were priceless. They are obsessed with the Pete the Cat light covers especially! Not only do the kids love how they look, but they have also had a calming affect on the classroom. They change the harsh let to make it more mellow which helps set that relaxing tone in our class.

After the light covers arrived, we received the bean bags and the listening center organizer. Before that, we hadn't set up our listening center yet. Now, it is up and running. The students are able to use it independently because everything has an organized space. We also have the bean bags in that area. Now, students have a comfortable place to sit and love using that center. They are getting the building blocks to become fluent readers.

Without you all, this would not have been possible, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

  • Reading is Dreaming with Open Eyes

    Funded Sep 12, 2017

Thank you for your generous donations! These books have been incredibly helpful in our classroom. Prior to receiving these books, we did not have enough books that were on grade level for each student. Now, students are excited to go into the library. They have lots of books that they can actually read and want to share their reading with their friends and with me. I love to see their excitement and know that they have quality books to support their learning. Whether they are reading alone or with a partner, they are reading more and showing all that they know!”

  • Wonderful White Boards and Necessary Supplies!

    Funded Dec 15, 2016

I want to take this time to thank you so much for your generous donations! We have been using the white boards, caddy's and craft trays daily. The caddy's help our students stay organized and have all of the materials they need to be successful right in front of them. The craft trays are an amazing way to help students have their own working space. They have been great for our winter indoor recess days when students are using play dough to grow their imaginations. The white boards have been a fantastic addition to our learning as well. The students love to be able to use them and get excited to have a fast way to share their thinking with all of us. It also has been a great way for me as a teacher to quickly check to see who is understanding and who may need extra support. These materials have made our classroom flow more easily and have really enhanced our students' learning. Thank you again for donating to a great cause!”

  • Literacy Centers and Books for Kinder!

    Funded Aug 11, 2016

Thank you for your generous donations to this literacy center project. We have so many literacy centers for the students to use now. Each time they have the chance to use the centers, they get extremely excited. They are set up like games, so the students are all very engaged. Having students learning when they think they are playing is the best feeling for a teacher. It keeps that class climate super happy and positive. It helps students see that learning is a lot of fun and it makes them more invested in their day. This all happened because of your generosity, so thank you again!”

  • Fabulous Read Aloud Texts! Elephant And Piggie Books for All!

    Funded Aug 2, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donations to this project. The students in the classroom have really been enjoying the Elephant and Piggie books. These books are wonderful stories that show two characters voices. It is fun to see different perspectives when reading. It is also very fun to act out the stories. Just the other day, we had students who chose to read these books during their independent reading time and had so much fun trying out different voices for the characters. This is helping them build their fluency and become better readers! It is also furthering their love of reading and learning.”

  • Social Skills Needed for Kindergarten!!!

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for your donation of the second step kit. This has been a blessing in our classroom. This kit is used to develop social skills and this is something that we have been lacking this year. Kindergarten is a fundamental year for learning how to socialize and interact with others. This kit has given me the building blocks that I need to help my students learn these skills in meaningful ways. The students find the lessons fun and engaging and really love the stuffed animals that are tools to help us throughout lessons. I have already seen an improvement with how they treat each other and how they interact with each other. Thank you again!”

  • White Board Needed for Visual Learners!!!

    Funded Dec 31, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous donations to the project for the white board and whisper phones for my kindergarten students. We have had these materials for a few weeks and the amount of joy and increased ease of learning has already been seen.

The students initial reactions were priceless. The students saw me building (and then helped as they could) the white board and couldn't contain their excitement. When it was all put together, they all took turns adding their own drawing and signatures to our brand new board. We were immediately able to use the board during our lessons that day and each day since. The students can see so much better on the carpet, and it makes lessons more efficient. I am confident that I am doing a much better job reaching the visual learners in my class.

We introduced the whisper phones during guided reading. Students use them to read to themselves during their independent reading rotation. It has helped them engage and focus on their books, leading to a greater impact when they are not with the teacher.

These materials are an amazing addition to our class and were made possible by you, so again, thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Murphy
