  • iPad Charging and Safe Storage

    Funded Jun 5, 2024

Receiving the lockable charging station for our technology has been so incredibly helpful! We had been struggling to charge iPads, having to rotate them around to make sure they didn't die. This lead to unusable technology during the day which felt like such a waste. Now, all iPads get charged every night and are ready to go each day. We are able to ensure that they are safe as well because of the locking feature. This may seem like something small to others, but for all of our students, this really does mean the world. Thank you again for your generous donations to support our classroom!”

  • iPads for Modern Learners!

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your generous donations. Your donations funded two additional iPads with protective cases. The day they came in, the students were so excited. I had kept it as a surprise, so they really didn't expect it! We had been struggling to get enough students onto our educational apps and onto our listening center and these two iPads make it so much easier!

The students have been great at taking turns on the new iPads because, as we know, new things are extra exciting! We use them daily and they bring so much joy and learning into our first grade class. You all have made an impact and that means the world to us!”

  • Listen Up… Headphones Needed!

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations to help get headphones for our class!

We have a number of educational apps that help supplement learning during small group time. We also have a listening center. The headphones help the students focus. They are able to hear and match sounds, listen to instructions and hear math word problems.

The headphones also help keep our classroom at a quiet level. This ensures that all of the students can focus and learn to the best of their abilities. We are so grateful to you for your support and help. Without you, our classroom would not be as good as it is now!”

  • White Boards and Seating!

    Funded May 20, 2023

Thank you all so much for your generous donations to my classroom project to get more chairs and white boards!

The chairs are a huge hit! The kids love that we can have the kick bands that go around the legs so that they can move a little while they work. They have also said thing like, "These are the best chairs ever." And "I can't believe we got new chairs, we're so lucky!" They are so funny and really loving them.

The white boards have made responding to questions, writing words and sentences and showing their math work so much easier! You have really helped out class become a better place!”

  • For the Love of Reading: Listening Center Books

    Funded Mar 22, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to support my classroom. The books are an incredible hit amongst the students. They are so excited to go to the listening center every day!

Research supports that students hearing books read aloud while being able to follow along in the text support students fluency and reading engagement. Over the past couple weeks my students have embraced new books, have learned new words and have gotten excited to read these books to others. I even have a group of students who ask to go to the listening center during indoor recess.

I am so grateful for the books and support. It means so much to my students and to me!”

  • Larger TV to Help Students SEE

    Funded Dec 16, 2021

We have received our larger TV and couldn't be happier about it. There was an immediate impact where students in the back could clearly see what was being projected. This allows us to have a little more space in between students to keep us all safe!

The students were really excited to see the new TV and immediately wanted to "try it out". In the first few minutes we had it open, we watched an interactive read aloud, we did a movement break and we watched a video about how plants grow. The fact that we so easily have access to all of these things is a game changer in the class.

Thank you so much for your generous contributions and continued support for our students!”

  • Stools for Flexible Seating

    Funded Dec 10, 2021

We just received our stools and they are amazing. We were struggling to be comfortable in the hard plastic, old-school chairs that you typically find in an elementary classroom. The discomfort led to distractions and loss of learning. Now, students have more choices for ways to be comfortable throughout the day. The stools have also been a game changer at the small group table. They are more compact than the old chairs, so we can all fit more comfortably and have more space to work. It may seem like a small thing, but these little things can really make the students days a lot better!

Thank you again for your extreme generosity!”

  • Smart TV to Replace Dead SmartBoard!!!

    Funded Oct 25, 2021

This project gave us back our lost access to the virtual world. Present day teaching requires us to get creative while we are trying to maintain a safe distance apart from each other. When our smartboard died, it left us with a gap. We couldn't project our digitized books for read aloud, we couldn't use our interactive powerpoints, we couldn't show our science videos, and we couldn't show guided dance break videos to help us all refocus. Your donations gave us a new TV and movable stand that brought all of these things back to our class. The students were (and still are) over the moon about it. Their favorite thing we use it for right now is our winter festival preparation. They are practicing "Frosty the Snowman" with a dance to go along with it and love to see the song with lyrics displayed as well as a video of themselves practicing! They also have said it makes our foundational skills block "way more fun" and they like to be able to see the books on the bigger screen because when I hold it up "it's too small."

Thank you for this gift and trust that it is being put to good use each and every day!”

    With gratitude,

  • iPad - Technology Is Key!

    Funded Dec 30, 2019

The addition of this iPad to our classroom has really helped improve the blended learning in our classroom. With each project, we have given students more access to technology to help prepare them for their futures!

Students have more chances to practice both their math and language skills. They use a program called I-Ready which helps them apply what they're learning to various math problems on the tablet. They also use a Lexia program to improve their reading skills. The more students who can access these programs at a time, the more invested they have become. I can't wait to see all the growth they will make because of this through the end of the year!”
