  • School Garden

    Funded Dec 31, 2023

Thank you so much for our raised garden beds to help our school garden grow. With these donations we have started plants and our garden is beginning to look wonderful. The students are so excited to have fruits and vegetables available for their families and the community to use throughout this year and the years to come. We have peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, strawberries, watermelon, and cucumber plants ready for the garden. We have also added blueberry and blackberry bushes on our campus as well. Thank you again for giving the students the opportunity to be part of this.”

  • Supplying Our Classroom

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

I can not begin to tell you how excited the high school students were to get this fish tank. They put the tank together as soon as it arrived and got it set up. Each day they check on the fish to make sure it is still alive. They have been so excited to have a classroom pet.

Also, we have been using the paper and cardstock for many projects in all of my science classes and using our pencil sharpener to help with colored pencils for many projects that we have done in our Biology, Physical Science, and AP Environmental Science class.

Thank you again for all of the supplies we have been doing many projects and hands on learning within our science classrooms.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hinkle

  • Science Supplies

    Funded May 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations of science supplies for our classroom. With these supplies the children in my high school science classrooms will be able to do more hands on activities in the classroom and more science labs.

We have already done many activities with these supplies in the classroom and even our high school students love when it is lab day. They always look forward to hands on activities in the classroom or labs where they are learning but involved in the learning and actually being scientist.”

  • Learning Through Stem Activities

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations. We have been using the science STEMS activities in our classroom for the first semester and will continue to use them this semester. We use these things often while we are working on science labs and experiments so my physical and earth science classrooms have really benefited from having these STEM activities this year. These donations have made it much easier for our us to do hands on activities and learning in the science classroom. Again we would love to thank you for everything you have donated to our classroom.”

  • Pop It Math Fun

    Funded Sep 3, 2021

Thank you so much for the materials that you have sent our third grade classroom. We love the pop-it boards and have been using them to practice our multiiplication facts with. These are a great alternative to flashcards and the kids really enjoy getting them out during math centers to practice their multiplication facts. The children were so excited when we got the game boards and their excitement continues every time we get them out to practice or review our multiplication facts. We will continue to use these throughout the year to practice our facts and for other review games. Thank you again for your generosity.”

  • Hands-On Learning From Home

    Funded May 8, 2020

Thank you for your donation of the hands on learning from home materials that we received. The children loved receiving the materials and being able to use hands on materials in the classroom and at home as really helped the children to be successful in the classroom. I have had to make many paper manipulatives for math and materials that they can use for the classroom and at home this year since we can't share materials and manipulatives due to COVID.

The children were so excited to be able to play games and use different manipulatives and activities in class even with social distancing because they have their own gameboard and manipulatives to use. Thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Remote Learning Materials

    Funded Jul 18, 2020

This is was so wonderful for our children. The children at the end of the year received materials to take home so they had them for the beginning of the year. This way they had materials for school to start. Then at the beginning of the year the children this year also received new materials so they weren't using used materials and since they can't share materials this year due to COVID so having new materials has helped with this since our school doesn't purchase for them.

The children were so excited to get their materials for their new supplies and having new things to use for the year. They use them each and everyday in the classroom and in their special areas.

I plan to hopefully continue to work on getting the children more materials for the school when needed since they can't share materials and most of our parents don't purchase materials throughout the school year.”

  • Distance Learning Scientist

    Funded May 21, 2020

Thank you so much for the donation our science kits. The children are so excited to be able to use these for science this year. They are really excited to work on these science experiment kits. We plan to use these throughout the year when we teach these science concepts.

The students were really excited to see the kits show up in our classroom and couldn't wait to see what was in the science experiment kits to be able to use. They have a huge interest in science this year and seeing these kits made them even more excited for science and third grade.

I am hoping to get some more science experiments and kits in the near future for our lessons and classroom because this is something that they need to do to help with vocabulary and nonfiction activities in third grade as well as something children really enjoy.”

  • Enhancing Vocabulary Among Diverse Learners

    Funded Aug 1, 2019

Wow is all I can say when we received the materials and the looks on my children's faces. It was like Christmas for them and me. Talk about making a difference in the child's lives. They were so excited to open the boxes and see what was inside. I have so many children who are ESL in my classroom so these vocabulary activities are going to help them out so much. We have already been working on prefix and suffix activities as well as the 5 minute vocabulary activities that we included in the package. The children love partnering up and playing the file folder vocabulary games as well. As for the next steps on this project we are planning to work on vocabulary and context clues throughout the entire year and will eventually work on idioms that will help the children not only pass their reading EOGs but also help them be lifelong learners and understand words and how to dissect words to make bigger words or understand word meanings. I can't tell you how much these materials mean to me and my classroom and I look forward to using them not only this year but the years to come.”

Children come to school wanting to explore the world around them and learn new things. I want to help them be successful with this process and incorporate technology skills. We have a very diverse school where 35% of our students speak a language other than English at home and 94% of our students qualify for free and reduced cost lunch. Our children come to school each and every day wanting to learn something new and share their new experiences with others. We have loving, supportive parents at our school, but with so many businesses closing down, many of the parents are concentrating on keeping and/or getting a job. Therefore, the students do not have many opportunities to experience life outside of their community. It is our duty as educators to make these experiences happen within the school day. I want to bring the experiences to my students by purchasing a web cam and buying color ink to make brochures of the places we visit.
