Orff Xylophone for Music Students Part 2!
Funded Sep 1, 2010Thank you for your donation to "Orff Xylophone for Music Students Part 2!" Your donation has purchased a xylophone and mallets which is now being used by general music students at a public school in grades K-4. Students have used the xylophone in combination with other instruments owned by the school to teach students children's rhymes, newly composed songs, and will be used in improvisation activities this spring.
Children are especially responsive to playing the xylophones in activities based on quality children's literature such as Mother Goose rhymes. In these activities, some children play instruments, all sing, and children perform movements based on the literature as well. Thank you for your donation! It will be played on and enjoyed by students for years.”

Ukuleles For The Masses!
Funded May 28, 2010Thank you for your kind donation to Ukuleles for the Masses! Early in the school year students began using the ukuleles, and students have learned the basics of strumming, holding the instruments, and they learned 3 chords on the ukuleles allowing them to play several songs. Students are using the ukuleles to perform a variety of songs, and to accompany themselves while they sing. Your generous donation has increased our schools supply of ukuleles, and thanks to your gift, each student now has their own ukulele to play on when they are in music class. Thank you! The instruments will be played on and enjoyed for years.”

Music Stands
Funded Mar 2, 2010Thank you for continuing to support the music education of my students through your support of this project! Your contribution purchased numerous music stands which are now being shared between 2 elementary schools in metropolitan Illinois.
Students in third and fourth grade at the elementary school in photos have used the music stands while learning to play recorders. The music stands hold up the recorder music for several students during class. At the other school where I teach, students in grades 6, 7, and 8 have used the music stands while playing guitars. The music stands allow students to perform guitar music while standing up.
Thank you again for your generosity, the music stands have literally "freed" my music students from having to place the music on the desk, or from having to balance the music on books. Students can now perform with many more options. They also enjoy the feeling of professionalism that comes from just using a music stand. Your gifts will be used for years.”

Young Musicians Need Keyboards and Books!
Funded Jan 9, 2010Thank you for your generous donation to the project "Young Musicians Need Keyboards and Books!" The keyboards have arrived, and students have started to use them in the after school music program. The books arrived recently, and we were thrilled to receive them! Students will begin to use them in general music class soon. Already your donation has made a positive impact on students. Prior to this project, the school owned 5 music keyboards. Thanks to your donation we now own 12 music keyboards. We have enough keyboards and keyboard books for the entire classroom!
In the after school music program each student now has his or her own keyboard, and the students are progressing at their own speed without the interference of having to share a keyboard with another student. Students are continuing to learn how to perform on the keyboard while reading simplified and traditional music notation, and students will learn how to improvise. In general music class students will learn similar skills using the keyboards. Thank you for donating the keyboards and books to our music students! ”
