Middle School Musicians and Researchers Part 5
Funded Aug 24, 2017Thank you for your contribution to "Middle School Musicians and Researchers Part 3!" Your generosity has helped purchase a total of 15 Chromebooks which were added to the school's supply of Chromebooks. The music room now has it's own Chromebook cart because of your donation! Students have used this technology to electronically compose, record, and research music using Roundtrip. This is a composition program which allows students to compose and record their own music.
The Chromebooks are also being used with Google Classroom, which is a learning tool to assist with education. Assignments are sent out and collected electronically using this platform. Electronic links such as websites, music sound files, and video can be sent out to students using Google Classroom. Students submit assignments on Google Classroom, cutting down on the amount of paper being used.
A project which will be completed in the future is a research project using the Chromebooks. Students will research a musical genre or style of their choice, prepare a short presentation including a paper, and located sound files. Your donation has made this possible. Thank you!”

Funded Jun 18, 2017Thank you for your generous donation to "Guitars and Guitar picks for Middle School Musicians!" Your thoughtful donation has purchased 30 sets of replacement acoustic guitar strings, and thousands of guitar picks to be used in the general music classroom. The strings will be used to replace an entire class set of guitar strings that are worn and are no longer playable. The guitar picks will be used in general music class activities when students play the acoustic and electric guitars. Students learn to play rock, pop, and reggae on the guitars. Guitar picks often get misplaced, lost, and fall into the guitars. The guitar picks that you were kind enough to donate will be used to replace the missing guitar picks so students are able to participate in all class activities. The supplies will be used and enjoyed for years. Thank you!”

Funded May 15, 2017Thank you for your generosity in funding "Keeping the Classroom a Healthy and Clean Place to Learn!" Your donation has helped purchased a years supply of cleaning supplies including tissues, paper towels, Clorox wipes, and hand sanitizer. With 1000 students moving through the music room each year, that is very large amount of cleaning supplies. Middle school students go through many tissues and the desks need to be cleaned often. Your donation has helped keep the classroom in a state where it is healthier, cleaner, and students are better able to focus. Many of the students are unable to donate school supplies so your donation is especially appreciated. Thank you!”
