Bare Necessities
Funded Jun 7, 2024Thank you so much for being a part of this great group of people coming together to support and encourage the incredible growth taking place in my classroom. Every day we are pushing ourselves to learn more and become readers. This is so essential in helping me try to reach all of my students. These tools will especially help my students, but even more magical than that is that you are showing my students that so many people care about their education and want them to succeed and that alone makes them want to try harder and learn more. Thank you for making all of this possible!”

You've Got Mail!
Funded Sep 23, 2021Thank you so much for helping to fund my project. My students were so thrilled to hear the news when the email arrived this morning. I have told them about our wheel of choices that I would like to share with them. Now we can start earning these rewards. Plus it will make putting our Thursday folders together much easier with these mailboxes. They will be over the moon with excitement.”

Funded Sep 4, 2020This is incredible! The days were ticking down and I began to doubt if this proposal would receive enough support to earn full-funding. Words cannot describe what I am feeling at this moment. My classroom will feel more safe when the kids come back. I hope you're all excited to see pics of us practicing social distancing in our class. Also receive a TON of thank-you letters, because they're coming! Thank you for truly making a major impact on the lives - both in and out of school - a deserving, hard-working, and soon-to-be very grateful classes. Their teacher is already grateful.”

Funded Aug 1, 2018This donation not only helped my students, but it also impacted the moral of our school. We were able to have a Christmas Assembly. Each class was able to perform at our weekly assemblies and showcase their talents and skills. The sound system has made our Friday celebrations a fun atmosphere. Our parents have enjoyed the assemblies as well. We have had many compliments on our Friday Rise and Shine assemblies. Our school has a feeling of pride because we are able to celebrate each other and recognize what is happening in our school as a community. Thank you for your contributions. It is greatly appreciated.”

An Appetite for Apps Wtih Ipads!
Funded Mar 27, 2018I am so excited to share the experience my students are having using the ipads this year in my classroom. We have 2 ipads in a center for students to use to help my students increase their phonics and reading skills. When students are struggling in a particular skill, it is easy to find an entertaining and educational online game that they can play to boost their knowledge on this skill. My newcomers that are not well at speaking English can use the ipad to build their vocabulary and knowledge of the alphabet sounds without feeling inferior in my class. This is the most popular center in our class. It is exciting to put the ipad under my document camera and show games while I am teaching a whole group lesson as well.
My students are most excited at the mobility of the ipads. They can easily use them in a learning center, or take them to our classroom library while other students are working. They are making an impact with my newcomers that are learning English as a second language, because of the apps available for them to use to help them learn the language. Their faces light up with excitement as they are motivated to play games that are actually helping them learn how to speak the language. They can do this while the majority of the students are being taught as well. The newcomers are being motivated to learn instead of feeling inferior to my English speaking students.
My students that are most warmed by this new technology in my class are definitely my newcomers. These students sadly are usually struggling in whole group lessons. They need one on one attention constantly. When I am teaching the majority of my students, they can be learning as well with the educational games. Instead of using flashcards to build their vocabulary, they get to see vibrate colors and animation by using apps.
I am truly thankful to my donors for making this possible in my classroom. Technology is such a useful tool. It makes teaching easier to motivate and more entertaining for my students.”

Funded Sep 10, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. My students loved seeing all the brand new supplies ready for them to use. It is amazing how brand new school supplies can make children smile. It is like new toys. You donation has helped enhance my students' learning. The first grade handwriting paper with pictures of the sun and flower is unique to teaching them how to form letters correctly using the lines. After our winter break I gave them new crayons. You could see sparkles in their eyes. They were so excited. Without your donations we would still be using our broken crayons the rest of the year. Thank you again for caring about the education of our future. It is the little things that make a big difference.”

Funded Sep 10, 2012This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The document camera that you donated has impacts my classroom every single day. We use it in many ways. My principal was quite impressed with it too during one of my observations. It is easy for my students to "see" how I do things on paper, or with manipulatives.
In today's budget and school budget cuts, your help has been very much appreciated. This has been helping me reach my students in a new way, and helping them feel successful.
Donors like you help teachers still feel appreciated and needed. Thank you so much for showing you care and helping my kids by donating to them and their future.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hendon
A Magic Carpet Ride
Funded Aug 31, 2010I am tremendously grateful for you donation to my classroom. The children use it daily. I have had many compliments from other teachers. It has sparked an interest in my Hispanic students learning about our states and capitals. We have made a game out of racing to the state when I say a capital. I am so excited that my students will be leaving third grade this year with the knowledge of their states and capitals. It is sad that social studies is not a core subject in elementary anymore. You have allowed me to bring it into my room.
Thank you again for your support and contribution to my students. It is donors like you that keep teachers' spirits up. ”

Bee Binders and Study Buddies
Funded Jun 29, 2010I am tremendously grateful for your donation to my project. You have been able to help me in the classroom by teaching my students about responsibility. The bee books have been a success this year. Other teachers are starting to plan for them next year. Parents are appreciative as well. It has become a daily routine to use them. My homework issues have dropped, and my parent communication has doubled.
The study buddies have helped with students working independently. It helps keep my talkers focused on their work, as well as help my students that do not work well with distractions. It is as if they have their own cubical. They love them.
Thanks again for your support and caring gesture to help my kids out this year. You are truly special to contribute to my students' needs. It is donors like you that keep teachers going. ”

Say Cheese Please!!!
Funded May 3, 2009On behalf of the class, I would like to thank you for your generous donation to our yearbook process. My students have never had a yearbook before. Now by your giving they can enjoy the process of putting it together as well.
The camera is a learning process for my students that they are excited about. I have modeled how to use it and upload pictures on the computer. Most of my students do not have computers or even a camera at home. With your generous donation my students are getting hands on experience at making and publishing a book. They are learning how to plan ahead and be creative. Something my past students have not done. Now with your donation my students from now on can participate in this experience.
The year is just in its second quarter however, we already have planned many pages. We have been on a flytrap to our see an orchestra play and learn about the instruments throughout the year. We have done many school projects that can be published to remember for years to come.
Your donation played an integral part in the fun and success of our project. Thank you for your generous support of our efforts to highlight and document our student's childhood memories.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hendon
