  • Families That Read Together.....

    Funded Nov 30, 2017

My students have been very grateful for these books. We have been reading them regularly throughout the marking period. They are very thankful for these magazines which are written at their reading level and about current topics. They enjoy the pictures and the stories. This group of students is very grateful for the additional materials for our classroom. They learn through doing and through using other techniques other than traditional lecture. They are a wonderful group of students and we are very appreciative of your support for these magazines.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hemsey

  • Wrestlers Never Bag it Up! [Part 6]

    Funded Nov 9, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting our team and for getting us these bags. We are now 10 bags away from having enough for every single team member. We are going to have them sign the bags out at the beginning of the season and then return them at the end so they can use them again next year. These are high quality bags and we definitely could not have afforded one for each student without your help. We are so thankful for your support of our wrestling team. The students were very excited to take them to our tournament last weekend and can't wait to use them at states.”

  • U.S. History Books for All

    Funded Oct 17, 2017

Thank you so much for sponsoring our school and for helping my MD history class have age appropriate reading. We have been reading the various books and magazines each week and the students are truly enjoying the articles. It is very helpful to have these magazines come every month and have appropriate articles. We read the Martin Luther King articles and have been reading the articles about the animals most recently.

This is such a great support for my classroom and because they are age appropriate and reading level appropriate, the students are very interested. They love the King Richard book the best. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hemsey

  • Strengthen the Wrestling Squad

    Funded Aug 14, 2017

I would like to personally thank Laura for her donation to the team. I tried to take photos of the team jump roping but you could not see the images very well, so I have uploaded images of the students at the most recent set of tournaments. We are so very grateful for your donation. The team used the jump ropes daily during practice. We were just able to install the heavy rope and the students have been using it recently during practice for conditioning.

Our team is currently doing very well. We have 4 students who are qualifying for states in their various weight classes. The 40 members of the team are having an excellent season with many who have had personal bests.

Thank you for your support of our program.”

  • Wrestlers Don't Bag It Up! [Part 8]

    Funded Jan 1, 2018

Thank you so very much for funding our project for 5 more bags for our team. We now have 25 bags and have one more project up to get enough for every team member. This is so exciting and the team will be very grateful when they are able to take these bags to our competitions. Thank you so much.”

  • Wrestlers Never Bag It Up! [Part 7]

    Funded Dec 31, 2017

Thank you so much for sponsoring my team and for helping us get these bags for every member of our team. We are working very hard this season and have around 40 members on our JV and Varsity wrestling teams. I cannot wait to give these bags to our team members and look forward to seeing their faces when the entire squad gets this new wrestling bag for their supplies. Thank you so much.”

  • TOOBs for Tolerance

    Funded Jun 21, 2017

Thank you so much to our donors for these toobs of figurines for our U.S. history class. The students have built 3 different types of war scenarios and have been using them to also build colonial sites, wars, etc. Having such amazing hands on manipulatives really helps my students see things in 3 dimensions.

We will be using these models and legos again in the future. We can't wait to put together another set up for the different parts of U.S. History and many of the students are now asking to create a model of the different stories. It is so helpful for my lower level student and was a wonderful experience.

    Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hemsey

TOOBs are long tubes of various themed characters. They represent historical figures, animals, foods, nature, etc. I am requesting the TOOBs about U.S. landmarks, U.S. Historical Figures, Jamestown [the early settlers], food, musical instruments, trees, and animals that were native to North America. My students have special needs and they learn the best through manipulatives; it is difficult for them to imagine how the world was years ago and to learn from those mistakes. By utilizing figurines, I will be able to explain some of the reasons behind the different wars. My students will try to imagine how they felt as the various different characters throughout U.S. History. We will discuss the relationships between the different types of people, how the Native Americans and the Settlers interacted, slavery and the Civil War, and the cultural differences caused wars and dangerous situations. We will create a tolerance bill of rights for our classroom, describing the behaviors that are inappropriate or appropriate in our classroom based on U.S. history examples.
