Funded Mar 9, 2017I am so humbled by your generosity and am happy to report that the majority of my students are leaving Kindergarten reading at or above grade level! Thanks to generous donors like yourselves, my warrior scholars were able to practice reading in small groups each day on our Kindle Fire tablets. Students were so excited to use them that reading became more fun and exciting in my classroom. I was even able to upload our school's new reading program application and have students read books at their own independent and instructional levels!
Additionally, the Kindles allowed students to practice their site words individually and with a partner using our school's reading program. Students also benefited from the Kindle's educational games and it became a great incentive during Free Choice time. Not only were students learning how to share and take turns, they also learned the power of using technology to learn how to read, solve math problems, and design their own art.
Having enough tablets for a small group in my classroom has made transitions into reading time easier now that each child in their table group gets to read on a tablet. I am forever grateful for your support and for believing in my Kindergarten warrior scholars! It has been an amazing year full of growth and the tablets were such a key role in our everyday Kindergarten experience.”

Headphones and Classroom Pencil Sharpener
Funded Mar 25, 2017Thanks so much for donating to my classroom! My students will be so happy to know that they each get to use a set of headphones while they work on an Ipad during Literacy Centers. This will cut down on the noise level which will help other students in the room concentrate. I am so grateful that we also finally get to have a working classroom sharpener! This will save time and help with classroom management. The additional materials will help tremendously with Phonics writing and taping of sight words in our room. Thanks so much for supporting my classroom and believing in my warrior scholars!”

Roses Bloom through Science and Arts
Funded Dec 16, 2016Thanks so much for donating to my classroom! Our school currently has not adopted a Science program and science materials are limited. Oftentimes, I have to buy project materials or ask parents to donate. Receiving these Science materials has enabled me to create fun and engaging Science lessons. My students were so eager to test out the rocket. This has been the highlight of their year! Launching the rocket enabled them to create and test a hypothesis all while having fun! The pegboards on the light table enabled them to continually test patterns, color combinations and teamwork. One of my favorite and most useful donations is the Science Flip Charts. These flip charts enable me to teach Science standards with visual aids and interactive write - on and erasable pages. My students are glued to the images and this makes teaching so much easier and efficient. Additionally, our bug viewer has been a great hit! My students are now exploring nature during their recess time and are bringing in ladybugs and other insects to view in our bug viewer. I love how engaged they are in Science and how much they look forward to using the materials. I plan on using all of these materials for the rest of the year and for many more years so that other Kindergarten students can benefit from their use. I am forever grateful for your support and for believing in our Kindergarten warrior scholars! Thanks again for your generosity and kindness.”

Help Our Roses Bloom Through Leveled Library Books!
Funded Feb 20, 2016It is with much gratitude that I write this thank you letter today. Because of your donation, I was able to provide all 42 of my students with access to a leveled library from levels A to F in Kindergarten. My students were thrilled to choose from hundreds of books at their instructional and independent level each week and place them in their special book bag. A huge reason why my students succeeded in reading this year is due to the access of these books. I am forever grateful that future Kindergarten students in years to come will also benefit. Thank you for believing in the vision and dream to provide all students access to books to build strong literacy development. My students grew to love reading even more knowing they had so many books to choose from from!”

Growing Roses Out of Concrete
Funded Sep 15, 2015Thank you so much for supporting my students! This was the first year that our school has opened and we have very limited resources. Your donation helped our students have access to much needed materials. The light table has helped create a learning atmosphere that is fun and engaging! Students absolutely love going to the light table and it has helped them practice sharing and taking turns. The letter cubes have come in handy with building words in a fun and kinesthetic way. Students are also so into the puzzles! The case fits conveniently in our room and stores so many engaging puzzles that students feel proud in accomplishing! They are at just the right difficulty level and it helps focus students as they use brain muscles to figure out where pieces go. The dot paints have made learning so much fun too! I use them in centers and have students paint dots on sight words as well as let them use them for free choice to express themselves through art. I truly am grateful to have these things in our classroom. Our classroom would not function as well without them and on behalf of my students, I send you a big hug of gratitude! Thank you for believing in them and for your generous heart that has helped enrich the lives of so many Kinder scholars and hundreds more to come!”

My Scholars Will Excel In Reading And Math With An iPad!
Funded Jan 1, 2015It is with much gratitude that I write this thank you note to all who have contributed to this project and who share the same vision of success for my Kindergarten scholars!
An iPad with a protective case will help my scholars excel in Reading, Math, Phonics and Vocabulary development. Most of my students are learning English as their second language and several students have Individual Education Plans for learning disabilities. Our new iPad can compensate for my scholars in a way that traditional media and paper and pencil workstations cannot. The iPad will give my scholars an advantage of learning how to use technology that they will continue to utilize as they get older. It will make learning fun and engaging! Thank you so much! I can't wait to introduce the iPad to my scholars!”

A Rug for My Scholars
Funded Oct 9, 2013First I want to say thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! Your donation has not only helped us obtain a classroom rug, it has made our classroom come together as a community. We received our rug during the school day. My students were in Music class while our school grounds keeper came in to lay it down for us. Before he did, I happily took off the tattered pieces of name tags that I had previously taped on the floor to mark each student's sitting spot. Once the rug was laid down on the floor, the room immediately felt different. It felt perfect! When I picked up my students, I told them a surprise was waiting for them in class. I made them close their eyes as they one by one walked into the classroom and opened their eyes. The look on their faces was priceless! They screamed in excitement and could not wait to sit on their new rug spots!
When all students were in the room, I sat them down by table colors according to the matching corresponding rug spot. I sat students using two strategies. The first one was sitting students who needed extra support with attention and behavior up front and the second was pairing students with similar oral language abilities. Students are now sitting in their "perfect" rug spots. Behavior and attention challenges are now almost non-existent. My students feel proud of where they sit and they are now better able to form a circle for our morning greeting and math activities. Students are also better able to find where they sit for our mini-lessons and read-aloud. When it is time to talk to their partner, students simply turn and talk to one another and have a defined outline of where to sit because their spot is inside a square on the rug. The rug has also helped my Kindergarten students learn their color names. Since I call them to the rug by their table color, they are able to visually match the color with the name.
Thank you so much again for your contribution. Because you took the time to donate to our classroom from the kindness of your heart, you have helped in creating a classroom community of learners who are now better able to learn, concentrate and interact with one another.”

Ms. Gonzalez
