  • Let's Keep Them Coming Back for More!

    Funded Feb 25, 2023

Thank you for supporting our students with books they are excited to read. In a world that is so visual it is important to have books that appeal to this type of learner.

Students are very excited to come in and check out manga books they know from the shows. Having them reading the story and experiencing it in a new way strengthens their reading comprehension skills, reducing their screen time, and allows them to experience the story at their own pace. All of this boosts their confidence which leads to success in school.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mark

  • Finding the Facts

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

It has been thrilling to have a new set of encyclopedias for the library. Showing students how to use them and even what they are has inspired many students to check out a different letter volume each week.

They are not only learning great information, but also about how it is organized, alphabetically by subject, for a person it is their last name, what a guide word is, and what a good source of information looks like. These are skills adults take for granted that students do not get to learn about and practice while using the internet for research.

Your support is making a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mark

  • New Books for a New Year

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

The students were thrilled to get so many new books. They spend much of their lunch and recess pouring over the new books together. This project has also added many graphic novels and manga which were so so needed. This shelf was often empty and now there are many more choices. It is so fun to see the students eagerly coming in at lunch to get the next manga in the series.

It is also exciting to share the new books that increases diverse representation with Disabled Heroes and BIPOC stories to our library.

Thank you so much for helping inspiring, excite, and educate our readers.”

  • Let's Keep Them Reading

    Funded Mar 3, 2022

Thank you so much for your support in providing books for our school library. This project enabled us to update our manga and graphic novel collection as well as adding many diverse reads. Students love reading books where they see themselves as well as learning about new worlds and perspectives they knew nothing about before. Having more manga series as well as additional volumes of My Hero Academia and Naruto keep them coming back every few days proudly needing the next one. The excitement generated by these new books is thrilling. Thank you so much for making that happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mark

  • Love of Reading

    Funded Nov 14, 2016

Thank you so much for all your support. There is something for all ages kindergarten through 8th grade. Graphic novels are becoming a big part of reading for children and this project allows me to offer many wonderful new stories in this format.

Stools may not seem like a big deal for a library, but we are thrilled to have them. They help our listening center be more comfortable. The students can sit closer together with the stools and forming groups for listening much is much easier because of them.”

    With gratitude,

I am a librarian for a K-8 Charter School. I have over 700 students come through the library each week. Some of them already love to read and are always looking for something new. Others are working hard to master reading. My challenge is to have something for everyone.
