Kindle Fires for Kindergarten
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you! My students will be so excited to get more technology in our classroom to aid our learning. Our parents will also be excited as we will use the Kindles to share what we are learning with parents via an app. I can’t wait to share with my students when we get back from Speing Break!”

Funded Jul 29, 2016Thank you for helping to fund our flexible seating project. The students are loving the new couch and wobble seats that was purchased with the funds. My students who have trouble sitting still enjoy the wobble seats because it allows them to sit and work and yet still be able to move and keep them focused for slightly longer periods. The extra seating options allows students to spread out throughout the room and are not all stuck together at the tables to work. The room has a quieter buzz of learning due to the use of our flexible seating.
Our Donor's Choice package was delivered during the middle of the school day. I was too excited and could not wait to open it, so while the kids were working, I began to open. The students excitement became more than mine, as we talked about how we would use the wobble seats and the couch to make us feel more comfortable to learn. They each took turns sitting on everything. Throughout the next days we developed certain expectations for using the seats correctly such as one could not sit on a wobble seat and spin in circles and scissors and markers were not allowed to be used on the couch to help avoid damage to it.
Our flexible seating allows students to collaborate and work together as they need to for lessons such as retelling stories where students have enjoyed sitting together on the couch and taking turns telling different parts of a story. During our read to self time the students enjoy the couch and wobble seats as each student has to have his/her own space to read. The students have more stamina to complete work as they do not have to sit in a rock hard normal school chair, but have options such as the couch and wobble seats and other choices to be comfortable.”
