  • "Rugging" Our Way to Learning

    Funded May 8, 2024

I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks for the beautiful classroom rug. It has brought so much warmth and comfort to our learning space.

The kids love the rug, and it's made a tremendous difference in creating a more comfortable and engaging learning environment that all students have access to. We especially love that it's large enough to fit our entire class at once.

The students are focused, engaged, and loving the shared space for class meetings, playing math games, spreading out for independent reading, and collaborating on small group projects. We truly appreciate your generosity and support!”

  • Charging Into the Future!

    Funded Aug 21, 2019

Thank you so much for the new iPad cart. I love that it can quickly charge each students' iPad in one specific location. I also love how easy it is to move the cart throughout the school as the students travel to other locations within the building.

Since we've received the cart, we haven't had to struggle with tangled wires or uncharged devices. This makes learning and creating on our iPads a breeze. The students have filmed natural disaster projects in front of a green screen, pretending to be weather reporters, as well as created various keynote projects about the skills we are learning. Thank you again for helping me prepare my students for the future.”

  • Let's Get Organized!

    Funded Aug 21, 2019

Thank you so much for helping me organize my students' materials and supplies. I love how neat and clean it makes the room appeal. There is a specific place for each item, and the students know where to find the materials they need. The students especially enjoy having caddies on each table with our basic supplies. It's easy for students to quickly grab a pencil or glue stick to finish a task. I really love having the numbered holder for each student's earbuds. It's really cut down on the lost or tangled earbuds. It also fits perfectly on our new iPad cart. Thanks again for supporting my classroom. We sincerely appreciate your generosity.”

  • "Rugging" our Way to Comfortable Learning

    Funded Dec 7, 2018

I can not thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. We are in LOVE with our new classroom rug. The best part is how large and fluffy it is. Every time someone walks into my classroom, they comment on how beautiful and plush the rug is, and the students love working on it throughout the school day.

The size of this rug has changed the way I provide whole group instruction, since my whole class can now sit comfortably on it. It has also changed my students' willingness to sit on the rug during whole group instruction. Many students enjoying sprawling out on the rug with a good book, sitting with a small group during literature circles, or while journaling in our writer's notebooks.

Thank you again for helping my classroom become a place my students love. The comfort has made our room feel like a second home.”

    With gratitude,

  • Go for the Goal!

    Funded Sep 7, 2018

For the past several weeks, our students have been enthusiastically using and enjoying our new soccer goals and soccer balls. I love seeing their excited faces each day during recess.

Thank you so much for helping to make these resources available to our students. We will cherish them for many years to come.

As a result of these materials, I have seen students learning to share, take turns, and problem-solve.

Thank you again for your generosity, kindness, and willing to help our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Blackburn

  • Moving In The Right Direction

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. It meant so much to my students and I that you helped us achieve more flexible seating options in our classroom.

It has been a long-term goal of mine to create an environment that matches the uniqueness of my students. Having a variety of seating options, allows my students the chance to express themselves through a variety of means. We are in love in the bouncy, yoga balls. In fact, each child wanted one at first. When we first received the materials, we rotated through the seats, giving each child the opportunity to try them out and see whats works best for him or herself. Then, we began true flexible seating, in which the students could choose which seat they preferred. My students with ADHD enjoy having the pencil caps that wiggle and move. Other students prefer the wobble stools or traditional desk and chair.

Because of your donation, my students now have an abundance of comfortable seats that allow them the opportunity to learn. I look forward to sharing these alternative seating choices with my future classes for many years to come. Thank you for helping us learn and grow.”

  • More Polacco, Please!

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

Your kindness and generosity has vastly impacted my students, and I am incredibly grateful for your donations. My students and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Patricia Polacco books you helped us acquire.

We have used them during whole whole group read alouds, as well as for independent reading. I have placed the books on the main whiteboard ledge in my room for the students to easily access and read them over and over again, which they often do. During reading, I often find my students getting lost in Pink and Say or Bee Man on our comfy ottomans. I have used Thank You Mr. Falker to reinforce character traits and writing a character analysis.

These books will be used and read for many years to come. Thank you again for helping my students learn and grow into better readers.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Blackburn
