  • Readers in our Library Need Kleenex Too!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

With the flu season and Covid on the rise, these items are in such great need. I am a classroom teacher too and it is very unfortunate that I am not able to ask any students or parents for any cleaning supplies. I see over 470 students in my library so we go through boxes and bottles of Kleenex and hand sanitizer. When students enter out library, they get hand sanitizer because we do handle books and shelf markers. It helps to have that extra step of precaution with everything going on! We have also had spills and the paper towels that was purchased have helped so much to get these things cleaned. Our kinder students accidentally write on our tables so wipes and paper towels have been such a great help! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Olvera

Wow I am so thankful to you all for helping this project get fully funded. These items have been on my wish list for quite some time and I so happy to know I will be getting them soon. My students are going to be so excited when they hear the good news. We are going to have so much fun learning through imaginative play!”

  • Coloring the Safe Way in the Library!

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

I want to take the time to give out a huge thank you! I am very very grateful that you chose our project to help fund. I see over 450 students and these essentials have helped and will continue to help.

It has been a challenging year and it warms my heart that there is beautiful people out there donating to educators and students in need. These supplies will help and continue to help in my library.

My students were thrilled when they were able to see all the crayons we had and how each student can each get their own colors as opposed to sharing. So again, thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

    With gratitude,

  • Texas Battle of the Books

    Funded Oct 7, 2021

I want to take the time to thank you for your kind and generous donation. It takes a village for great things to happen and you are a part of it. My students were so thrilled when they found out that our project was funded. I say "Our" because this was for them and I. We received the books right away which helped out because our practices weren't successful without having these books.

We had a very successful Battle of the Books and my students placed 4th place out of 37 schools in our district. That is amazing and we are very grateful.

We hope you could donate to future projects to continue the success of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Olvera

  • Reading all Around the Library

    Funded Nov 13, 2019

My students were thrilled when they noticed new, cool seating for our library. I placed the seating in different parts of our library so students can have access to it. Every student wanted to sit on it because it was new to them. They loved how flexible the seating was. I even had one student tell me that one time in another school, they weren't allowed to move around on a chair. This is why I felt it was extremely important to get the different types of seating.

Now every time my students come to library, they take turns on who sits there. It makes my heart happy with how grateful and excited they are about it.

Thank you donors! You have brought some really bright smiles!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Olvera

When students see or visit a library, they think of comfort, home, or being at peace. I am constantly having students coming to the library in the morning, during lunch or after school to read and get away and I feel bad when they don’t have comfortable seating on the floor or anywhere in the library. This is also great for special need students who hate being at those high tables! When I love to read aloud to students, I dislike when I see some of my students squirmy and uncomfortable. I believe in reading corners/nooks and creating these welcoming environments for students, which is why I absolutely love this new, trendy, STEM learning furniture!
