  • Social and Emotional Learning

    Funded Oct 6, 2024

Thank you for helping to reach the funding goal so that we may receive these vital materials for our classroom. Social and emotional learning is so important to academic success. These tools will help us to ensure all of our students have the social and emotional skills they require to thrive in all settings.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ivey-McSwine

  • Instructional Materials

    Funded Mar 6, 2023

We have certainly loved the items from this project! They have been used to aid in daily learning, to provide accommodations to our special learners, and with daily practicing of our skills. Headphones, calculators, and batteries are essential tools these students need to be successful.

Many of our students are not yet reading at grade level, so the headphones we received help them access their grade-level material and understand what is being asked of them. The batteries and calculators are important for our special learners who struggle with working memory and being able to calculate and hold numbers in their brains for a long enough period to complete some higher-level calculations and math problems.

Thank you again for your kind donations towards helping my students succeed!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ivey-McSwine

  • Letter Identification, Early Reading, Number Sense & Sensory Items

    Funded Dec 28, 2022

Our students are loving these resources! We have used them to identify both capital and lowercase letters, write our upper and lower case alphabet in order, and learn our letter sounds, to reinforce these skills, and to strengthen the foundation for some students who have already mastered this and continue on to higher leveled skills.

Our students love to be hands-on whenever possible and these materials have helped them learn using various visual, auditory, and tactile processing methods. Once again, we appreciate your donation very much and are grateful to everyone who aids in the success of our young learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ivey-McSwine

  • Special Education Hands-on Learning and Classroom Supplies

    Funded Jun 3, 2020

Thank you very much for your assistance in making this project a reality for my students. We have greatly appreciated the materials and have used them for many activities and lessons. We will continue to use them in the future as well!

Donors like you help make classrooms a better place to help learners of all different levels and backgrounds who learn in their own unique way. My students are grateful for any and all help they receive and are more successful with the tools you have made possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ivey-McSwine

  • Make Learning Fun & Engaging

    Funded Oct 8, 2021

Thank you again for the generous donations so that our classroom could have the tools we need to make learning fun and engaging. Math can be so confusing and difficult for some- making it a disliked subject for years to come. By practicing these math skills in a fun, hands-on way, students can have positive experiences and outcomes with math. My students and I have enjoyed playing the math games that were bought- the bingo is always a hit! The sum swamp was also a big favorite; they ask to play every week and cannot wait to try all of them. We really appreciate being able to do this!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ivey-McSwine

  • Seating for Special Education Classroom

    Funded Dec 22, 2019

Thank you SO much for helping our classroom! I am so excited to see our students enjoying their new flexible seating options and to see their increase in focus on our important learning objectives. These are very hard-working kids who will be helped tremendously by your donations. I am so grateful for donors like you who make the world a better place! You are a blessing.”

    With gratitude,

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. Flexible seating proves to be effective in reducing disruption and off task behaviors by engaging students in their environment and ultimately increasing their academic ability.
