  • Design, Discover, Deliver: Enhancing STEAM Learning Through Technology

    Funded Apr 25, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous donations and for believing in the future of our classroom! Your support has brought incredible new technology into the hands of our students, including a brand new Mac mini. This gift is opening up amazing opportunities for learning, creativity, and innovation.

We are deeply grateful for your kindness and for investing in our students’ dreams. Thanks to you, the possibilities are endless!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Davis

  • MacBook Air Makes Learning Fair

    Funded Dec 12, 2022

Thank you so much for the MacBook donation. The kids have been able to use it for multiple science projects. Its speed is incredible when uploading and viewing large microscopy images. Processing time has been cut down and kiddos can get through so much more of their labs, than when using the Chromebooks.

In addition our kiddos have been able to use the MacBook in their yearbook club. Processing high resolution images and embedding them into the yearbook spreads has never been so easy. Kiddos literally drop and go without having to wait for images to pop up in their place holders.

With their newest MacBook our kiddos have been able to take true advantage of our school's high speed internet. Thank you!”

  • Making Learning Visible

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

Amazing! Thank you so much for donating the super large display for student creativity. Students have been able to use it to see their lab specimens up close and magnified. For those kiddos that have different levels of visual impairments, this display has greatly benefitted their learning in the classroom.

In addition to science labs our Yearbook Club students have been able to use the display to view multiple yearbook spreads at once. This makes editing pages much easier for our student design team.

Again, thank you for thinking about students this academic year. Your support has benefited all of beyond words. Yay!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Davis

  • Protecting Our Learning Tool

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for the iPad mini protective case! Our kiddos have been busy using their newest technology, while doing classroom science labs as well as producing a school yearbook. The case you made possible to protect our kids' tech has come in super handy for minor drops.

Having an iPad mini in the hands of our kiddos has enabled them to capture their world in real time and later on analyze their findings to make meaning of their scientific inquiries.

Students' new iPad mini has enabled them to do research on the go, whether this be in the classroom or during classroom outings. Kiddos are having the chance to interact with the latest tech, which makes them that much more career and college ready.

Thanks again for the additional protection that your provided for our iPad!”

  • We Spy With Our Eyes: The Great Outdoors

    Funded Nov 25, 2022

Thank you so much for purchasing our materials to bring what we are observing into better focus. These past weeks our kiddos have been able to use their newest technology to zoom into their natural world. While using the binoculars kiddos have shouted, " I didn't see that before!"

It has truly been exciting to see them grab for their binoculars and share them with their schoolmates. Each kiddo has been extremely careful with their learning instruments and have been using the packaged cleaning clothes to keep them nice and clean.

After now having students use their newest science data collecting tools, we plan to purchase more binoculars in the near future so that more kiddos have access to this wonderful learning instrument. Yay!”

  • Ink About It

    Funded Jan 5, 2022

Thank you so much providing us ink to use with out newest printer. The ink that came with the printer was not enough to create the signage we have been using around our school yards to keep our green spaces healthy. We have been having problems with keeping people's dogs out of grass and flower areas throughout our school grounds. When people let their dogs relieve themselves on our grounds they don't always pick up what's left behind. This can attract rats and also be very unfortunate for the kiddos/adults that step into the feces. We thank you greatly for helping us keep our grounds cleaner and attracting the wildlife we want to see coming back.”

  • Promoting Health & Wellness Through Wildlife and Nature

    Funded Oct 25, 2021

Thank you so much for helping us purchasing a high quality classroom printer. Our kiddos have been busy using it to produce high quality signage for outdoor usage. We have many community members that use our school grounds for recreation throughout the day.

Our Environmental Club members have identified that it is important for people using our school grounds to take care of the outdoor space. Students have used their printer to create messaging that emphasizes folks to clean up their trash and to keep dogs away from the spaces kiddos play. Signage has been nothing but encouraging and positive reminders to keep our green spaces safe and clean.”

  • What's Up With That Logan Square Animal Behavior?

    Funded Dec 14, 2021

Our mission is: With integrity, GS is devoted to increasing awareness and promoting academic excellence in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. It is our goal to produce scientific attitudes, innovation, and science-based learning opportunities.

Our Apple iMac has aided our Environmental Club students in the collection and analyzation of animal behavior around our Logan Square neighborhood. Students have had the opportunity to collect animal behavior taking place around our school and digitalize their findings. Environmental Club has shared their information across classrooms to make comparisons between data that they hope will promote better welfare for those urban animals that we share our outdoor spaces with throughout the school year.

We hope to continue sharing this information with the rest of the school community to help make environmentally conscience decisions, throughout everyone's daily activities.”

  • Stop it! Mock it!

    Funded Apr 2, 2017

Our students executed a school-wide Mock-up during the month of November and it was AWESOME! Students in each classroom were given the supplies you purchased for our school and built prototypes, using the engineering design cycle and three specific criteria.

When students received their materials they were excited to get started in the designing process. Students took turns sharing out their ideas for their prototypes, before they got to the building step. Students really got into the process of designing and planning for a prototype that they would eventually sell to a client. Being limited by building criteria and time, students were under pressure to do their very best to get their creative ideas across to client.

The next steps for our kiddos is to build prototypes that focus on traveling and commuting for winter and spring break vacations. Students will continue to develop their engineering skills as they think about problems that commuters face while traveling over vacations. Students will be asked how their understanding of forces and motion can impact the successes and failures of their future prototypes/products.”
