  • Sound and Scent Healing for a Restful Start of Summer

    Funded Jun 8, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous contribution. This will be a complete surprise and will be a wonderful way for our students to close out the year and celebrate their hard work. It will be a great way to close out the study as well. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness.”

  • Breathing Buddies Boost Mindfulness

    Funded Feb 6, 2017

The breathing buddies have been a great hit in our classroom. Each student has gotten the chance to work with their own brightly colored, calming buddy during our class rest time. Class resting has become a special time they get to share with their buddies. Not only are our students able to practice how to be calm, they are still doing so in a joyful way. Each student will be surprised to learn that at the end of the year they will get to keep their very own buddy as a reminder of their innate power to be calm. This small tool represents a huge skill, so thank you for your support.”

  • Breathing Balls for Active Hearts

    Funded Dec 8, 2016

Thank you so much for your thoughtful donations to our class. The mini breathing balls are an excellent tool in encouraging students to breathe properly and mindfully. Before these donations, we only had one large breathing ball. Students would alternate using the ball each session while the the rest of the class would follow along. Students often became restless and distracted during this activity. However, with the new mini breathing balls, every student has a ball to keep him or her engaged. The students inhale and exhale in unison, expanding and shrinking their balls. The mini breathing balls promote proper breathing and class unification, improving students health and well-being.

The students were overjoyed when they saw the mini breathing balls. They loved the one large breathing ball and would constantly beg to lead the breathing activity for that day's lesson. Once they realized that there were enough balls for everyone, they insisted to start class with the breathing exercise. The mini breathing balls are the students favorite class material.

I plan to use our breathing ball activity as a template to introduce the sense of touch. Students must expand and shrink the balls during inhalations and exhalations. Therefore, they can learn the importance of touch and how it encourages a healthy, mindful state of mind.”

  • Eye Pillows for a Restful Health and Wellness

    Funded Aug 9, 2016

The eye pillows have been a huge success in class. Our students actually look forward to resting, and they use every moment of that silent time to rest. This is such a huge deal because they are able to experience a calm nervous system in the midst of a stressful day. From what we have noticed so far is that because our students have been able to rest more deeply they are able to handle the challenges of their day with more resilience. The eye pillows have given them a deeper experience of how beneficial meditation, mindfulness and slowing down can be. We are so grateful for this donation :)”
