  • Expanding Skills for Exceptional Readers!

    Funded Apr 20, 2023

With your generous gift my students were able to complete their end of the year Capstone project. Each student made their own sound wall.

A sound wall is up in our room and shows a picture of the mouth (what it looks like making that sound), an object that goes with that letter (A apple) and a word that begins with that letter. Students can take this sound wall with them to first grade.

I thank you so much for donating to me, someone you have never met. The excitement that students had with this project was pure joy to my heart and that is because with your help, it came to light.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DeBona

  • Engaging Young Minds!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

I am so thankful for you supporting my classroom by providing resources for my classroom through purchases made on the Teachers Pay Teachers website. I purchased several different Science of Reading resources to help aid in my reading instruction.

I purchased several decodables so that students have several opportunities to practice reading at school and at home. I purchased ones that went with our skills that we were working on and stories that were winter themed since it is winter.

It has been so helpful to have funding available to buy resources on Teacher Pay Teacher. It is my favorite website and has been so helpful in providing engaging and useful resources within my class. Thank you so much for choosing my project to fund.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DeBona

  • Do You Hear That?

    Funded Dec 28, 2021

The headphones that you helped supply our classroom with has helped during this quarter with testing and continuing our individualize learning path during reading and math.

During testing, I was able to test multiple students at one time because they all had headphones. They were able to listen and concentrate on the questions being asked.

It has been nice not having to reach out to parents to ask for headphones. I am able to go into my supplies and provide them with a new pair. I truly appreciate your generous gift and willingness to help out students you have never met. THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DeBona

We use technology a lot in the classroom. We use specific programs that allow students to learn at their own pace and at their own level. It is hard to hear directions/stories when 24 students are on their iPad at the same time. It is so important for students to have headphones so that they can focus on the task at hand and listen carefully to directions. When students do not have headphones they seem to get easily distracted from external stimuli and need to be redirected with the task at hand.
