Active Learning for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students!
Funded Mar 3, 2017Thank you, thank you, thank you for your contribution! My students were SO excited to see all the new learning tools! The overwhelming favorite, are all the tossing activities. My kindergarten students love using the sight word steps and alphabet toss game. I allow each student to take a turn and randomly select an alphabet bean bag. They they match that bean bag to the corresponding letter on the rug. Each letter on the rug, has a sight word step associated with it. The student then reads the sight word, and uses it in a sentence. They then get to toss the bean bag in the corresponding space on the board! They love playing this game! Kindergarten also enjoys using the "talking" pens, this allows for independence and the ability to self-check, which is a critical skill. Finally, EVERYONE loves the number toss. We play the game both traditionally, and non traditionally. My students love using the toss as a reward for a right answer! Thank you again for supporting me and students in our active learning!”

My deaf and hard of hearing students were so excited to see the new additions arrive in our classroom! These iPads have helped in aiding in my small group pull out sessions for my students. Technology is every growing and changing and there are so many different resources that can be used with iPad technology. It has made and will continue to make a huge impact on the hands on learning taking place everyday! Thank you, thank you!”

Computer Support for Special Needs Students
Funded Dec 3, 2015Thank you so much for funding my project! As a special educator we are often met with various student needs and ways in which to meet those needs. This addition has allowed me to not only plan for more hands on and engaging lessons, but also equipping me with reliable technology in which to do it. My students LOVE technology and being able to receive information in a fun and visually appealing way.
I look forward to continuing to provide quality listening and spoken language intervention to my deaf and hard of hearing students! Thank you, God Bless!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hardy
