My students need the opportunity to learn in a comfortable, collaborative environment. I currently have a 2-person couch and 2 beanbags. Expanding my flexible seating will allow students greater access to learning by giving them more choice and ownership over their engagement. More choices will help build a positive classroom community that will better facilitate inquiry and communication through literacy, math, writing, science, and social studies. I would like to expand the alternative seating in my classroom to include standing desks, floor table with stability cushions, and balance balls. I would also like to create a gathering spot for whole-group instruction with a comfy rug and transform a bookshelf into an inviting bench with a cushion and durable pillows. By donating to this project, you will provide greater access to alternative seating for all of my students, facilitating a greater sense of community. This will help my students focus in class and be excited about their learning.
