• Building Basic Skills Through Interactive Notebooks

  My students were able to use these resources to create interactive notebooks that will allow them to create fun, engaging foldables. These foldables will help them to learn and remember concepts that are discussed in class. This is a new, innovative way to take notes rather than only pencil and paper.

  Students will be able to use markers, colored pencils and highlighters in their new notebooks. They will paste down activities in their notebooks as well. Students will use these notebooks daily in class. They will even take them to the next grade level!”

• Sweet Treats for Math

  My students are absolutely loving the new sweet treat rewards! I have been giving them the option of a sweet treat whenever they pass one of their required software lessons. Each student is expected to pass thirty of the lessons in a school year. All of my students are now motivated to pass as many lessons as they can! I have even had several students who have passed more than one lesson in one class setting now.

  It seems like such a small gesture, but kids really love being rewarded for their accomplishments. I hope that they are soon able to be motivated intrinsically as they get older and more mature.

• Alternative Seating for Small Groups

  Dear Donors,

  My classroom is absolutely loving the new yoga balls and wobble chairs! They are such a huge hit in my classroom! The students are constantly asking to use them. They have really impacted those students that have trouble sitting still for such long class periods. They are able to exert their energy while still productively working in the classroom.

  When the kids first saw the yoga balls, they were astounded. They were so excited and ready to use them! We had to cover some ground rules first before using them. Students now know the benefit of these alternative seats and value them greatly.”

• We Need a Table for Collaborating and Math Workshops!

  Dear Donors,

  It is with great pleasure that I inform you that my students LOVE working at the table that was generously donated to my classroom! Students ask to sit at the new table every day! We use it frequently for small group settings for students.

  Because of your kindness, my students now have a hard surface to work at while working in groups. I often use yoga balls and wobble stools at this table as well to increase engagement, which we were also able to receive through donors like you!”

• Post-It Posters

  Dear Donors,

  My classes are loving the new Post It Posters and Sharpie Markers!!! I am also loving them! I no longer have to aggravate other teachers about borrowing their markers! When my students saw the new markers they were so excited!

  I frequently do "choice boards" in my classroom where students get to choose their type of assignment based on their interest. Many times I provide them the choice of creating a poster to explain a new concepts. This choice is very popular because they LOVE displaying their work on posters using markers. Your generous donation has allowed us to do this!
