Essential Elements!
Funded Aug 15, 2024Thank you so much for funding this project. My students are already putting these items to good use. I had to be out for a couple of days, so I was able to leave the substitute some color by note sheets to reinforce music theory. My students used the crayons for the projects and the clipboards to have something to lean on so that they could color a bit easier.
We've been using the band-aids for minor boo-boos and accidents. The tissues have been very much needed because students have come back with allergies and colds since the school year began.
Even though these are not the most exciting music supplies, they have definitely been needed and I can't tell you how much my students and I appreciate your kindness in funding this project.”

Ms. Hagel
Costumes! Costumes! Costumes!
Funded Feb 15, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donations to our project! When I first showed my students the costumes, they couldn't wait to put them on and show their families some of what they learned in music class this year.
My students were able to use these costumes for our music show and they were so excited! The costumes helped to enhance the experience for many of them and they are still talking about the program days later.
Thank you for helping bring the music to life on stage and let my students shine!”

Ms. Hagel
Back to School!
Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students and I have already put the items in this project to good use. We have been able to use the DVD player to hook up to our new SMART board and use some of the educational DVDs that I have in the classroom. We used it one day when I had to go to the doctor so that my substitute could still give the students a quality education even though I couldn't be there and another day when the art teacher had to be out of school at the last moment. The school didn't have time to get a substitute for her classes, so they came to me for music instead. Because it was very last minute and I had already seen the classes for music the day before, I was able to share some videos with them as well and teach them a different lesson. We have also been able to use the new crayons because I try to leave for my substitutes an activity that doesn't require technology, just in case the technology doesn't work. My students were able to complete a coloring sheet as well as watch the video. And of course, the tissues are always useful and will continue to be as we head into cold and flu season.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022I can't express to you how grateful I am that you funded this project, so I'm going to let my students tell you about how excited they are! In their words: 'Amazing! A million out of 10! Felt like my bed! Comfortable. Made my back feel good! Awesome! Feels like a pillow!' These are just a few of the phrases my students used to describe these seat cushions.
I have wall to wall carpeting in the music room, but it is very thin and is over concrete flooring. I often see my students shifting around during the lesson trying to get comfortable. These cushions have enabled them to sit in comfort, but also be able to move them out of the way quickly so that we can get up and dance and move to the music. For that, we are grateful to you for making our music classes more enjoyable. Thank you!”

Ms. Hagel

Funded Aug 18, 2022Thank you so much for these items to keep our classroom organized! The baskets have been a life saver in giving us a place to store pencils, paper, and clipboards for times when we need to write. Later in the year, it will be helpful when we do coloring activities as there is plenty of room to store crayons as well. My students already did one listening activity and really enjoyed the new baskets.
The desktop organizer has also been extremely helpful. I'm able to store important papers in it and grab them quickly. As I'm planning music programs for the school year, I have a place to store magazines and music that again, I can reach at a moments notice. It has also helped me to keep my post it notes handy as well.
Thank you once again for your help keeping our classroom organized!”

Classroom Essentials!
Funded Aug 18, 2022Thank you so much for funding this project. All of these items have been used since the start of the year and will continue to be used as the year goes on. My classes have already been through a box of tissues, so those have particularly come in handy.
We have been using the pencils, paper, and clipboards to lean on during our assessments, so the students have already been able to show me some of what they know.
As we approach cold and flu season the Kleenex and Germ-X will particularly come in handy, even though they are already definitely being used.
The extension cords have helped me to move my piano to other spots in the room, closer to my chorus during those classes and not have to teach from so far away.
My students and I are grateful for your support and for donating these items to our music classes!”

Ms. Hagel
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Funded Apr 11, 2022My students are having so much FUN with our new boomwhackers and I can't wait to continue using them next school year. We were able to play songs like 'Disco Fever' with the instruments and explore making long sounds (whole notes) and shorter sounds (quarter notes). My students were also able to discover patterns in the melody as well. And did I mention that they had FUN?
Our next steps are to continue using the instruments next school year and hopefully for many more. We will use them to explore concepts like rhythm and pitch. I am sure that my students will also continue to have fun playing these instruments as well.
Thank you again for your generous support of our music program!”

Perpetual Power!
Funded Dec 24, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations of perpetual battery power. So far, we've been able to use these batteries to power up some of the new keyboards we were able to acquire for the music room. We've also been able to use some of the batteries to power up some other devices as well, such as remote controls and speakers.
My students have been enjoying learning the keyboards and we have been learning the notes C, D, and E on the keyboards. I'm hoping to add in the 5 finger notes of C, D, E, F, and G as we come back from Spring Break. They have also been enjoying short videos about choruses and orchestras, in part, due to having the battery power for the remote control to the DVD player.
We will continue to use these batteries to power up the music room for years to come!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hagel
Keep Our Music Room Clean!
Funded Dec 23, 2021Thank you so much for your donations so that we could get the dust buster and the vacuum cleaner for our music room. They have truly been invaluable! My students often bring breakfast to class because they are late to school. We have been able to clean up little spills and messes from that. My students often come to class after recess, walking to school, or waiting at the bus stop and often bring in all kinds of grass and dirt on their shoes. In the pictures I included you can see how the dust buster helped me to clean up after a student left some grass and dirt on the rug. You can see in other pictures that I was also able to vacuum up other materials between classes.
My students are also happy to have these materials. Sometimes I don't see stuff left behind on the rug and they ask me if I can get the dust buster out to help clean their spot on the rug off before they sit on it.
We will continue to use these materials to keep our classroom clean in the future.”

PPE for the Music Class
Funded Oct 30, 2021Thank you for your generous donations to this project! These items have truly been needed in the music room. Students come to music and sneeze in their mask and need new ones. Or they break from having been worn all day. Or they tell me the mask gets wet and they need a replacement for the one they have on. There are many different reasons for why students need masks, but I want to be able to keep them safe and this project has enabled me to do just that. We are already going through our first box of masks and it won't be long before we go through the second box. We have also been using the Clorox wipes to clean our instruments and other items. I know my students are grateful for these items and so am I.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hagel
