Giant Floor Piano Mat
Funded Nov 2, 2015Thank you very much for donating to our music class! Your gift, the big keyboard mat is bringing so much fun in my classroom. My students now are so motivated an enthusiastic about learning concepts such as steps, skips, and leaps in simple melodies, keys letters, patterns, and notes' names. I wish you could see how the students are excited playing this wonderful magic carpet with their feet! Also, the music stickers that you have donated are very helpful for students that have difficulty to remember the notes' locations on a keyboard.
A few weeks ago, before winter holiday students learned to play "Jingle Bells" and "Carol of the Bells" and the piano carpet activities were perfectly suited for learning the melodic patterns of these songs. The younger students were asked to memorize "Jingle Bells" song pattern with five letters in the melody with repeats, skips, and steps. They played the song on a piano carpet with their feet before they played it on their keyboards. The room was filled with beautiful sounds of "Jingle Bells" and kids went home singing and stepping the song's pattern. They remembered each step, skip and repeat of the melodic contour! The activities on the piano carpet were even more fun for the second grade students who learned to play "Carol of the Bells." Kids played two-part song on a carpet, and they were so thrilled to hear a beautiful harmony of the piece while keeping pattern with steady beat.
I am very grateful for your generosity. Your contribution is very special for me and my students because you were part of our school community time ago. It's wonderful to know that you cherish your childhood memories with such love. I hope my students will have the same feeling about their school. Again, many thanks for your support. It means the world for children who participate in our music program!”

iPad for Music Classroom
Funded Dec 29, 2014I would like to express my appreciation for your generosity in support of my music classroom. My students are eager for the new iPad so that they can learn about music concept using numerous apps. The touch-screen interface allows them to engage more interactively with music content.
Right now we are using iPad for our music band as a tuner and a metronome, we use it while practicing scales and learning how to play guitars and keyboards. The application that we are using is called Metrotimer, and it allows the students to practice music with the beat and adjust the tempo or meter to any song. Also, the iPad is used for playing keyboard and guitar educational games, watching instructional video, playing accompaniment during chorus rehearsals, making photos and videos. There are more features that we still looking forward to explore such as apps to compose music, display music scores, and record music performances. The donation that you made is really , and I would like you to know that it is very appreciated!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Kia and one other donor.Keep the Beat!
Funded Apr 1, 2014My students and I were very excited to get new musical instruments for our music classroom. Now, we are able to turn our music class into more engaging and fun place, where the students are listening variety of musical instruments. Using them increasing students motivation and knowledge.
Our music classroom had very low music equipment for little kids. Many of our percussion instruments were broken, and it made impossible for my students to play in a percussion band. Now my little ones are able to learn about different rhythms and beats in an engaging way they deserve. Since students had started practicing their instruments, I have noticed that their understanding and inspiration have increased. They follow the conducting gestures very precisely, and keep the beat steady as they play their rhythm sticks and chimes. Thank you so much for being willing to provide the tools for my students to succeed.”

This classroom project was brought to life by 100 Women in Hedge Funds and 4 other donors.Listen While You Play
Funded Mar 26, 2014My students and I were tremendously excited when we got new headphones for our music classroom. Now we are able to turn music class into a more engaging place, where the students are listening to themselves playing their musical instruments. Using headphones allowed them to focus on what they really play and to hear the sound clear instead of listening to the whole group performing.
Our keyboard classroom had very low quality equipment for many months. Many of our headphones didn't work, some of them had a lot of background noise, some had very low volume, and it made impossible for my students to play individually at their own time and tempo. Now my students are able to learn the things they deserve. Since students had started practicing their instruments with new headphones I have noticed that their understanding and motivation increased. Students love to listen while they play! Thank you so much for being willing to provide the tools for my students to succeed.”
