Sensory Walk!
Funded Apr 7, 2022I can't thank you enough for making this project possible. I am so excited for these items to arrive and to set up the coolest sensory walk we have ever had in the classroom. My kids are going to love it. Plus, the full funding of the project totally made my day!”

Funded Nov 15, 2020School has been a different place over the course of the pandemic. Many things take longer to do, or may not happen at all because our students have not been away from home as much.
The sensory materials that you funded have helped my students feel a sense of calmness and purpose in the classroom. They love to sort colors with the Colorpillar, and even add many extra items to the mat. Sorting is an essential skill for children on the spectrum to master.
We are lucky to have donors such as you to help with our social emotional learning and adjustment in the classroom.”

Kids In and Germs Out!
Funded Sep 14, 2020Thank you again for your generous donations! My class has been benefitting from our air purifier since we all returned to in-person learning in October. While we will never know for sure whether or not the air purifier has been responsible for keeping us in good health, I am pleased to report that the COVID-19 virus has not spread across our students and teachers! In fact, we have barely had any illness at all this school year. Knock on wood!
The well-being of my students is one of, if not the, most important things I can help to ensure for them. This gift from you has made a difference in our confidence this year.”

Ms. Cochran
Bounce to Success!
Funded Dec 9, 2019Thank you so very much for helping to let my students move! They were so excited to have a trampoline back in the classroom. They used it for jumping and bouncing, and sometimes just for sitting with a book.
Much to my surprised, the wiggle cushions were an even bigger hit. Having a different texture on each side, these became sensory sensations! The kids have been exploring them with such focused interest. They also enjoy stacking them,.rolling them, and occasionally even sitting on them.
Thank you again for giving my little guys some additional ways to experience their surroundings!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for helping to fund the NE Aquarium visit in my classroom last June. I just want to say that my first graders were thrilled to get to see many of the sea creatures we had studied throughout the year.
The Aquarium instructor was amazing and had the children completely engaged and they were able to show off some of their knowledge about the ocean world.
The visit was well-timed and occurred on our field day. We were able to rotate it in with our other activities to make a great day all around!
I hope that they will remember it for years to come!”

Seat Pockets!
Funded Oct 17, 2017First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you for your generous donation. The seat pockets have changed our classroom into a slightly less chaotic place!
The day they after they arrived, I had to attend an IEP meeting and thought this would be the perfect activity for them to work on while I was gone. When I returned to the classroom, the kids all came running over shouting, "Look what we got!!"
Now, rather than having my little first graders awkwardly push and shove their way to get the books and materials they need for an activity, they easily pull them from the pockets. This reduces so much time and so much frustration on everyone's part.
Another piece of having these that I had not anticipated was that the kids have really shown some ownership and initiative in using them. Although initially we had everyone set them up the same way, the students now organize them in ways that work for them individually. Many kids have also brought in their own pencil pouches and feel comfortable leaving them in their pockets all the time.
This may seem like a small addition to a classroom, but it has really made a huge difference for all of us in room 103.”

Ms. Cochran
