My students enter my classroom daily full of energy and ready to learn. I want to give them an environment that is conducive to their learning needs. The traditional classroom is no longer an option for today's students. They have lots of energy and need help focusing that energy to better learn. Research shows that moving while learning increases understanding and retention of new information. By providing flexible seating in my classroom with wiggle stools, yoga balls, lap desk and bean bags I am able to keep my students engaged to the fullest and meet the diverse needs of my students. These flexible seating options allow the children to move around the classroom and be engaged while feeling they have some control of their learning environment.
