  • Creating an Inviting Learning Environment

    Funded Nov 1, 2022

Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom! The new furniture looks amazing in our classroom. The students were overjoyed when they walked in and saw the new seating. It brings life to our classroom. One student said, "Mrs. Huskey, these make your class look WAY more fun." That speaks volumes coming from a 7th grader.

The students use the new seating to read and work. It has been the perfect addition to our area. We have had to come up with creative ways to choose who gets to use the new beanbags, but the students are fine with taking turns.

    Thanks, again, for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Huskey

  • Gifted Games

    Funded Jan 27, 2020

The funding of "Gifted Games" has been amazing for our students. The use of these games in the classroom is making learning fun. The students must use critical thinking skills to be successful. They must also work together as a team to complete multiple tasks to win the game.

When the students walk into the classroom, we have stations set up for them. Each station has a different game for the student to work on a given challenge. Challenges range from Easy to Difficult. These games have been a great addition to our stations.

The students are LOVING it. They love working together. They are APPLYING what they have learned. This is EXACTLY what we were hoping would happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Huskey

  • Rule The Classroom With Robotics

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. "Rule the Classroom with Robotics" is going to take learning to the next level in our Gifted and Talented classroom. Our students require and desire new ways of applying what they have learned in their regular classes. We want to be able to offer them the BEST when they come to the Gifted and Talented room. The use of Little Bits in the classroom encourages students to think outside the box. They are building and creating in ways they never have. This could not have happened without you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Huskey

The funding of "Great Minds Think" has been amazing for our students. The use of these games in the classroom is making learning fun. These games incorporate science and math. The students must also use critical thinking skills to be successful.

When the students walk into the classroom, we have stations set up for them. Each station has a different game for the student to work on a given challenge. Challenges range from Easy to Difficult.

The students are LOVING it. They have even begun creating challenges for each other. They are APPLYING what they have learned. This is EXACTLY what we were hoping would happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Huskey

Gifted and talented students need fun and innovative experiences to challenge their bright minds. Not only will these activities be exciting to manipulate, they will encourage the students to work together to achieve a common goal. Learning happens more quickly if students have hands-on experiences. Discovery kits and logic games stimulate parts of the brain that go unused in everyday learning experiences. These games will be set up as stations in the classroom. Students will move from station to station using a variety of skills to accomplish tasks Offering hands-on learning activities in our classroom will benefit all types of learners by providing opportunities for them to observe as well as perform. Hands-on learning can also expose students to challenges and obstacles they might encounter on the job.
