My students are the reason I am a teacher. Every day I arrive at school knowing there will be an adventure.
I would describe my students as "eager to make a better life for themselves". Houston Missouri is a small town and a lot of the students in it are very low income. Because of the area, students are eager to learn the skills they need to improve, for themselves and their family. The students in Houston Missouri are hard working and energetic. Their interests are very diverse and quite often they struggle to figure out what path will lead them to greater success. Our students are very visual and respond well to projects where they can see a functioning result of their hard work.
When our students see bigger schools doing things they aren't able to, because we don't have the resources, it can get discouraging. Our kids are top notch and they deserve all the support they can get.
