An Apple for Teacher
Funded Nov 10, 2021Thank you SO much for funding this project! Having the appropriate technology in our classroom has opened so many new opportunities to learn, explore, and grow every day.
The foundation for our preschool curriculum is essentially learning through play and we've been doing that more now with our new technology! My students especially love to sing and dance along to music and videos that I am able to project onto a screen. With my new MacBook, I have also been able to prepare and create more hands-on materials for my students to use every day in class. For example, I have been able to prepare manipulatives and props for my students to use as they listen and follow along to our daily read alouds. I have also been able to create digital content for them to access during class and at home so that they can continue to learn and explore with their families.
Thank you so much again for your generous donation. It truly has made an impact on our classroom and we are forever grateful.”

Funded Feb 8, 2017Thank you for your generous donations. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to complete our arts-infused inquiry based learning (AIIBL) project! This year, we focused on how we can make a difference in our school and our community. We learned about recycling materials, reducing trash, and reusing/repurposing things into something else. After learning about these key concepts, we conducted our research to further our learning and deepen our understanding. From there, we decided to reuse/repurpose plastic bottle caps into magnets! With all the wonderful art supplies we got from this Donors Choose project, we were able to transform them into beautiful magnets that we were able to sell. We raised over $300! This money that we raised will go towards more AIIBL projects next year, as well as supporting a local charity. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

Funded Mar 10, 2016Dear Donors,
Words cannot express how thankful my students and I are for your generous donations. I decided to surprise my students with this project, so my students were actually a bit shocked and confused at first when I showed them the boxes of yoga balls. Their reactions were priceless! "What? We don't need to sit on chairs anymore? We get to sit on these fun yoga balls instead? We get to BOUNCE during class?" I, of course, happily responded by saying, "Yes! Some very special people paid for these balls JUST for you!"
These yoga balls were actually delivered a few days before our spring break, so I had the opportunity to introduce it to my students, go over the rules and expectations, and have them try it out one at a time. I told them that they had to show me that they could be responsible and safe in order to earn their own yoga ball to sit on! This also gave them something to look forward to when they came back from spring break! Needless to say, my students had no problem convincing me that they could be trusted to sit on these yoga balls. They all earned the opportunity to sit on one of their own!
These bright green yoga balls have made such a positive impact in my class. They have brightened up my classroom, helped my students to focus, and have encouraged good posture and daily physical activity. I have received feedback from other teachers and specialists that my students work with who have said that they truly have noticed a difference in my students. Our school's Adaptive P.E. coach said that they seem to be more focused during their sessions and are growing their physical endurance. She also made a comment about how she has read many research articles about the positive effects of alternative seating, but our class was the first one where she actually saw it in place! Our school's Occupational Therapist was also very excited to see my students using these yoga balls on a daily basis because that is one of the strategies she uses and tries with the students she works with.
I, personally, am so thrilled that I took the chance and tried this idea out. I am looking forward to sharing it with my students next year as well! These yoga balls are very durable and will hopefully last me a few years! Thank you once again for all your support. I couldn't have done it without you!”
