  • Science and Social Studies Center for Bilingual First Graders

    Funded Sep 11, 2016

As a teacher, I have to find new and exciting ways to keep our students engaged. I felt that my Science and Social Studies classes were always missing something. I felt I needed to create games and activities and that took a lot of time. Now, with our games, I don't have to wonder what I have to do. These games are perfect for students to continue their learning in a fun and interesting way. These games will provide that extra support needed for both subjects. Our students were so surprised when they first saw these! They were engaged and wanted to continue learning. These games are perfect to enhance students' creativity and love for Science and Social Studies.

I really want to thank you for your amazing contribution to our learning. You really have made a big difference in our learning environment.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Romero-Coulter

  • Games for Learning

    Funded Aug 24, 2015

I want to thank all of you for the amazing games you donated to our classroom. These games have made my teaching a lot more engaging. Children love to learn through games and this was something we needed in our classroom. Now my students can grab a game if they are done with their activity before we move to the next one. They can also use the game when we have center time. Most of all, they can use the games to practice some of the strategies I have taught in class.

When my students first saw the games they were very excited. They were even happier when they started to play. I have noticed they are more engaged when they place their games and they have learned new things while practicing others.

Your donation to our classroom has made a big difference. Thank you so much for making it happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Romero-Coulter

  • Spanish Books for Early Readers

    Funded Jan 20, 2015

What an amazing donation! I want to thank you for your generosity. The books we received have increase the opportunity for my students to read in their second language. Some of the books I will be using for read aloud and the other half will be used for independent reading. I was able to find the Spanish reading levels and now my students will be able to take them home, and read to an adult or read independently.

My students were really excited to have received these books specially because most of them are now reading higher levels and we need some new books.

Students in my class are really enjoying your gift. Thank you so much for making such a big difference in our lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Romero-Coulter

  • Engaging Books for Bilingual First Graders

    Funded Oct 23, 2014

We were so excited to have received such wonderful donation. My students were really excited to see our new books and they even helped me place them in our library. Even though for some of them it is challenging to read in their second language, it is always exciting to open a box and see new things for our classroom.

These resources will open my student's opportunities to read new and authentic literature. It has been very hard for our school to buy books that will enhance our life as Spanish readers. My goal is for students to be able to pick books based on their interests and learn new vocabulary. With your donation, I feel closer to achieving that goal.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your donation has improved our library considerably.

Thank you for supporting our Dual Language Program.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Romero-Coulter

  • Audio Books For Bilingual First Graders

    Funded Sep 17, 2014

It was an amazing feeling seeing my students take the books out of the box when they arrived. Their faces showed happiness as they saw new books for our library.

Our new books are going to help our Spanish library grow. Most of the books received were leveled according to reading levels. This means my students will be able to borrow them based on their reading Spanish level. They will be able to take the books home, read them independently or read them with a partner. It has been a bit challenging to bring materials to our Spanish Dual Language classroom. We could have not accomplish this without your generosity.

These books have really made a difference. Thank you for your donation to our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Romero-Coulter

  • Spanish Books for Early Readers

    Funded Aug 23, 2014

I am really excited to have received this amazing gift from our donors. Our students were really happy to have gotten new books to make our library stronger. They are always eager to read new and exciting books. Their first instinct was to go and look at the bright pictures and try to read the words.

We are going to be able to use more books for read alouds and independent reading. Most students in our class love to take picture walks which will help them with their prior knowledge and vocabulary.

I am really glad I was able to increase the quality of my library. I have a lot of choices and will be able to read interesting books to my students.

Thank you for donating to our project. You really have made a big difference in our lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Romero-Coulter

  • Que Calor! Help My students Get an Air Conditioner

    Funded May 6, 2014

I am so thankful for your amazing donation. I have always believed in the importance of classroom environment. When students are comfortable they can learn better and show more motivation. It is almost impossible to accomplish this when the weather is muggy and extremely hot. Your donation made my classroom a better place to be.

My students were really excited when we received the air conditioner. The room felt cooler and the air quality was incredibly better specially when they came back from recess. I know they appreciated the fact that the room felt cool after being outside in the heat for 20 minutes.

Our new air conditioner made a huge difference in our learning environment. My students weren't distracted by how hot the room felt. This made my students concentrate on their work and it was easier to accomplish our work.

Thank you so much for giving us this incredible gift. Your generosity will be forever appreciated.”

  • Help us Get a Nice Place to Sit

    Funded May 6, 2014

What a difference a rug makes! My room looks so much organized, clean and inviting. My students couldn't contain themselves when they saw the rug. They ran to it, laid on it, touching its soft fibers with curiosity and excitement. I will never forget their reaction. Our rug serves as our meeting area and students feel very comfortable when they come to it. They also have more space and leg room than they did before. We no longer need those dirty and uncomfortable mats, we now have a great space to explore.

I would like to thank all of our donors for this incredible gift. Your donations have really made an incredible impact in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Romero-Coulter

  • Playful First Graders

    Funded Mar 3, 2014

I feel so excited to know my students have activities to practice concepts we have learned in math, as well as listening activities to practice their fluency. They now have the opportunity to review and have fun at the same time. Having this project funded has made a huge impact in my classroom, since now I have more materials to differentiate instruction and really focus on what each of my students need.

My students were so excited to be playing in groups and to be learning in a fun way! They always feel sad when we have to clean up. That is how much fun they are having!

This would have not been possible by your generosity and commitment to our students. We truly appreciate your donations.”

  • Audio Books For Bilingual First Graders

    Funded Dec 9, 2013

I have to say I was really excited when I received the box. I hoped our students would share the enthusiasm and as soon as they opened that box I knew I was right! They were so happy to see all those books! Books they knew from the English versions and new books ready to be explored. Since we have a new listening center but no books to listen to, I was hoping we would get those books so that the kids would enjoy and listen to Spanish stories. You made that possible and now my students get to practice their Spanish by listening to amazing stories. Other students just enjoy listening to the language and learning new words. This is an amazing experience for all of them.

My students and I want to thank you for your contribution to our learning experience.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Romero-Coulter
