Students will use these items to complete student films, a school news program, and a school talk show project. Using industry standard equipment will heighten their learning experience and give their projects a professional look and feel. The training and use of these items will assist students who are interested into pursuing a career in film and/or the performing arts, and will give a greater appreciation to the rest of the students who will now have a better understanding of what it takes to make a film or video project. The boom microphone poles will allow students to use the better microphone that we already have to record higher quality sound and to make any video projects better and nicer to listen to. The shock mount will be used on the boom pole to make sure that the microphone doesn't record any accidental noise from the microphone itself making contact with the boom poll. It is necessary because students are holding these boom poles over the heads of the performers and just out of view of the camera. Sometimes this makes the microphone jostle or shake and if there is not a shock mount to hold the mic, those extra noises will be picked up and recorded. The teleprompter stand will help with the student news and talk show projects because scripts for those projects will be created so often that it is unreasonable to expect students to memorize them in time for filming. Having this teleprompter stand will allow us to put the script on an tablet computer and the students can perform the material directly to the camera with little to no delay.
