  • Fresh Reads for a Fresh Start

    Funded Nov 19, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students were so excited to see some of the amazing titles that we were able to add to our growing classroom library with your support. They were obviously more excited to see the new Dogman book as well as HomeAlone2. I, however, was beyond excited to see the POP series books. Many of these books are based on shows and movies that I loved as a child. I can't wait to bring some of the things I enjoyed most into their lives in hopes they'll take as much as an interest as I did.

Thank you again for your help and I can't wait for the kids to start reading all of the new books.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nicholl

  • Read by Example

    Funded Dec 8, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. I can't even begin to tell you how excited the kids were to hear that we were getting new books right before the holidays. Their faces lit up with excitement when I read out the list of books that would be heading our way. I know that they are looking forward to getting their hands on them as soon as they arrive. We appreciate your continued support for our classroom and for reading. Without you, we wouldn't have nearly as many options available. Thank you again, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!”

    Ms. Nicholl

  • Starting Off on the Right Foot!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you for donating these innovative mailboxes for my classroom. I pride myself of being a very organized teacher so that children have a well established classroom full of routines and procedures. Using these new mailboxes will be a great way for students to learn about ownership, responsibility and organization at a young age. I plan on using the neon tape to enhance the white colors to make them stand out amongst the rest of our brightly colored classroom. Again, thank you for your support and we appreciate you helping make our classroom even better than it was before!”

  • Books for the Long Haul

    Funded Jul 26, 2019

Thank you so much for you generous donation. I know that these titles will be put to great use this upcoming school year. Academically they will help the majority of my struggling readers gain an interest in chapter books. Third grade is a year in which students struggle most due to the workload becoming more independent rather than guided, so these titles will help my students apply comprehension skills to books that they can read independently. Demonstration of those skills is key and with your help we will master them one at a time.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nicholl

  • Classroom Essentials are the Key to Success

    Funded Aug 18, 2019

Thank you so much for funding my project. This particular project was important to me for many reasons. I work in a very high poverty area and many of the students come to school unprepared each school year. Many of the parents in my room often don't have the means to provide kids with more than their uniform. I am often the one purchasing extra materials for the classroom so that students don't feel the pressure of being unprepared due to not having the materials off of their supply list. This project was designed to eliminate that uneasy feeling so that my students could all start off the school year with a smile. Thank you for making that possible and helping me provide my class with things they need.”

  • Boys and Their Books!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation in honor of your father. I assure you that these books are very high interest books in my class and that having the entire series will definitely guarantee that my boys will be reading like wildfire! I can't wait to see how excited my new group of students are to have such a fun and adventurous set.

We appreciate your support and will make good use of them in honor of your father. Seeing as though he was from Camden, I am sure that he too would understand how much your generosity is appreciated. Being able to find donors like you who can relate to my students makes it so much more meaningful.”

  • STEM Fun for Everyone!

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. I am so excited to have these particular items headed to my classroom for the upcoming school year. Each year I try to improve in different areas within my classroom. With a shift in the curriculum focusing on STEM I felt as though it was important to find ways for the students to be creative and have some fun.

Growing up I LOVED K'nex and Legos, and recently I've come to see my nephews enjoy Marble Run and the Magnetic Tiles. Having these items in my class will hopefully entice students to work together to create, build and imagine the many possibilities that they may someday apply to the real world.

Thank you again for your donation, your continued support is much appreciated!”

  • A Book a Day Keeps the Teacher Away

    Funded Mar 27, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. In third grade, students tend to struggle with the concept of Mythology seeing as though it is a very abstract concept to them. They have very little background knowledge to help them connect to Myths that they are asked to read and comprehend. These books will help my students understand the concept of the Greek Gods and Goddesses through fictional stories involving them. Having these series, as well as the Weirder School collection will help guarantee that my students are challenging their reading comprehension skills. Thank you so much for this donation. We appreciate your support.”

  • Can't Stop Reading!

    Funded Mar 14, 2019

Thank you so much for your extreme generosity. These books in particular were placed on my project list because they will entice many of my lower readers to gain an interest in a series of chapter books that are fun to read. They are geared towards many different reading levels and will definitely help with their progression. This is also a series in which many of my on-level readers drift to for enjoyment. I know that my entire class will be thrilled to see them arrive and I am sure they will want to get started reading right away. Thank you again, we appreciate your support.”

    With gratitude,

  • Ready, Set, Read!

    Funded Mar 5, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. I wish you could have seen the look on my class's face when the books arrived. I didn't tell them that they were on their way because I knew these titles would spark such a great reaction. They literally screamed when they realized we have all fo the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books available, and apparently Plants Vs. Zombies is a very popular hit with the boys. They've been checking in with one another to see who's turn it is to take the book this week. I appreciate your support and thank you very much for helping increase their interest in reading as we push through the remainder of the year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nicholl

Third grade is a difficult year, especially with state testing requirements. With that being said, many of my students come from homes in which English is not the primary language spoken, therefore they struggle with reading and language usage. To help students remain focused on the skills being taught, these books will help "lighten" the material, and make reading enjoyable for them. I am planning to use these materials to give students additional practice with comprehension skills, to help improve their reading levels, as well as extending on skills from previous school years. Each of the items requested can be differentiated to meet the individual needs of my students.
