  • Toys and Books to Support Student Social and Emotional Well-Being

    I do not have the words to express my gratitude for your support of our project. The toys are being used to build social skills that are needed in real life. Students are playing and learning to share, get along, talk, ask questions, work together, and learn from one other. In addition, to the toys helping build social skills, students are also learning. They are learning to think critically about how to build things. The books are assisted in learning empty and friendship by reading stories of other people/characters related to them. When the materials arrived my students and I jumped with joy and I couldn't wait for my students to get their hands on them. The material is being used in literacy stations. Students rotate each day to a new station to experiment with new manipulatives. Students are working toward letter recognition, beginning sounds in words, and building words with the new material. You truly made a difference for us, and we are incredibly grateful!”

When my students saw the math manipulatives, they jumped with joy and excitement to get their hands on the materials. The manipulatives are being used in math station. My students rotate each day to a new math station to experiment with new manipulatives. I was excited to see and open the box of new learning material to help my students learn skills in language arts. When I showed my students the materials, they jumped with joy and said how cool these new materials are. They all went to play with them right away. Throughout your donation, we have been able to work towards letter recognition, letter sounds, blending sounds/letters to read words and writing/building words. The materials requested for my students will be used for daily language art centers. During daily language art centers, students work independently or in small groups to enhance their learning in reading and writing. The Beginning Sounds Phonemic Awareness Box will help students learn an object's beginning sounds. The board game Pop Learn Letters Numbers Game will help students with letter recognition, and if the game is flipped, students can play a game of counting. The Double-Sided Magnetic Letter Tiles and I Can Build Simple Words help students build words to help them write. Lastly, the Phonemic Awareness Instant Learning Centers will be used for my students who need extra support blending sounds to read words.

About my class
