Headset for Crystal Clear Remote Sessions
Funded May 6, 2020On behalf of my fourth graders, I want to say thank you for your donations. Transitioning towards remote learning was something no one was prepared for. Having the right tools has been a true challenge. With the new headphones I am able to deliver clear instructions free of distracting surrounding sounds to my class. I have been able to use the headphones during the many webinars offered in order to become a stronger educator during this difficult times. The rolling cart has helped me keep all my teaching tools organized and ready for use and transition into every subject quickly during my zoom classes.
Once we go back to work these items will be used by my students as well. The headphones will be great in our computer station. The headphones will be an ideal help for kids that need help ignoring distracting sounds during an assignment or during a test as well. The rolling cart will be used as an organization tool where math manipulatives can be easily accessed by any student.”

Funded Feb 19, 2020We are loving our new microphones! I have a few students who are very shy and quiet, but I have seen them coming out of their shells once we began using our microphones throughout our school day. One of our recent in class project required the students to share their research information with the rest of the class. This is where I was pleasantly surprised to see the most reluctant students asking to be the ones to go first. In their small groups the usually shy students have begun to take leadership roles and all because they love the idea of having the chance to use the microphones.
I have seen my students enthusiasm increase because they all want to present in front of the class. However, the most exciting event was when two of my students shared with the class how they felt like news reporter and since have decided they will be reporters when they grow up. As a result of that conversation most of the class now want to be reporters. Therefore, now I have a classroom filled with future reporters whom are taking ownership of their learning and making our days a lot more interesting.”

Creating Creative Writers
Funded Oct 24, 2019My students are so excited about our writer's workshop tools. They can't wait to start writing on a daily basis. With the clipboards and writing journals they can sit anywhere in the classroom and work on their writing. This has gotten them to stay focused for longer periods of time. We have even taken our learning out of the classroom. Since the pencil pouches make it so much easier to pack all their writing tools they have asked if we can do our independent writing lessons out on our school garden. We have tried it twice and each time the students have shared their minds, have felt more relaxed and a bit more inspired to write for the entire writing session. With all the writing supplies the students have been taking their writing a bit more serious and see themselves as authors. They have taken ownership of their learning and even my reluctant writers have been filling up their writing journals. Once again thank you for your donations.”

Funded Jan 18, 2019Our classroom is in the process of a big transformation thanks to you! We are on our way to becoming a flexible seating classroom. My 4th and 5th graders look forward to our literature time because they get to decide where they can complete their work. The lap desk trays are preferred over their regular desk any time of the day. Our metal stools are perfect for my students that need to feel they have more wiggle room.
Thanks to your donation my classroom has felt more organized and the students have been more productive with their classwork. Our next step is to add more options, but this has been a wonderful start. Once again thank you for your help in making our classroom a flexible seating classroom.”

Physical Education Matters
Funded Jan 8, 2019I can't thank you enough for your donations and how much it has helped my students. My 4th and 5th graders are constantly setting academic goals and are dedicated to meeting those goals that many times they have felt overwhelmed and even frustrated. However, now that we have our PE equipment we make sure to take enough time to go outside and release some of our energy by playing many different games. This has helped my students get back to class more focused and be more energized than ever. They look forward to PE time now that they have many option on which games they can play. Once again thank you for our physical education equipment that will be enjoyed by many student and for many years to come.”

Funded Sep 18, 2018I can't describe how thankful I am for your generous donation to my classroom. The bean bags that were donated will be used daily and have already encouraged my students to read for longer periods of time. They will also be used as a flexible seating option at different times of the day. This has helped many of my students stay focused and engaged in their classwork. Others look are looking forward for their turn to be able to seat on the bean bags. Each one of my students are making sure they participate in class discussion in order to show that they should be chosen to be the ones to use the flexible seating option (the bean bags).
Our school fundings have been decreasing year after year and without your generous donation my students would not have been able to discover the joy of reading in a relaxing and comfortable spot. Not only is your donation helping them academically, but also in building a positive culture and feelings towards their classroom.”
