We're rebuilding a soccer program to provide healthy social, emotional, and phyiscal activities that engage our students and provide them with opportunities to develop teamwork and communications skills and learn to make healthy eating choices. Our freshmen team is starting from scratch and practicing with a few hand-me-down balls - they need new equipment across the board. They need new soccer balls, training gear, and warmups heading into winter. Most of our students qualify for free or reduced lunches, and they seldom get proper day-to-day nutrition, much less additional nutrition to help support healthy athletic activities. I want to be able to support and instruct them in making healthy choices on and off the field. Healthy snacks and sports drinks will help them get the proper nutrition they need to compete.
