How this technology helped my students learn? This technology has expose my students to a bigger world and has allowed them explore new areas that are not possible from the inner city classroom we inhabit together. They have been able to use the hands on activities using technology to strengthen their learning foundations.
What has been the most exciting thing in the classroom for my students has been the use of an iPad to access dynamic and exciting reading and math software. The students have been stimulated and allowed to grow and expand even more. The boundaries that are created by the four walls of our classroom and the limits that come with poverty can be demolished with the students being able to access the Internet and the world beyond their own four blocks.”

My students are balls of lightning that are so full of energy, I am exhausted by the end of the day. They are bright and cheerful even though they inhabit a world that may not be so vibrant. Our classroom is a special classroom full of students who have been labeled as emotionally disabled. Their labels mean nothing in my classroom because my students are eager to learn, eager to explore, and eager to transform their worlds from black and white into full, high-definition color. The children in my class range in age from 6 to 9 years old and live in some very precarious situations. They all live in high-poverty areas and use school as a window into a world they do not usually see in their own neighborhoods. I am moved everyday by the obstacles my students overcome to be present in class and my class has the highest attendance in the school! Our school is also comprised of students in a high poverty area and even with all their challenges, they come to school everyday with a smile
