Fire Up the Robots! 3, 2, 1 - CODE!
Funded Nov 19, 2019Thank you for your generous gift to my classroom. Student learning is being transformed this school year by the usage of the coding robot Sphero Bolt and the Fire tablets. The project you helped fund allows students to experience computer programming and engage in practical learning that is enriching. Without your help my students would not have these experiences!
We were able to use the Fire tablets to program the Sphero Bolt robot to follow commands, navigate a path around the classroom and to complete obstacle courses. We were also able to use the Fire tablets with other coding robots that we have in the classroom. The students began their computer science learning with basic programming. Then they progressed to more complicated code. They also learned how to work collaboratively together as a team. This experience has been wonderful.
Thank you for making these tablets and robot a possibility in our classroom. Using them has been a rich and valuable learning experience.”
With gratitude,

Funded Dec 31, 2018Thank you to all our donors for your generous gift to my classroom. You made our computer science dreams come true! Our learning was transformed this school year by the usage of the Edison Coding robots. The project you helped fund allowed students to experience computer programming and engage in practical learning that was enriching. Without your help my students would not have had these experiences!
We learned to program the Edison robots in various ways. Students could control them by using bar codes with pre-set programs – ex. clap to make them move, robots followed a light source (flashlight), and controlling them like a remote-control car. Using the EdMat, students were able to program the robots to follow a line, bounce and stay within the borders and even had 2 robots have a sumo wrestling match! (They tried to push each other outside the ring.)
Thank you for making these robots a possibility in our classroom. Using them has been a rich and valuable learning experience.”

Dashing Right Along! Robotics in the Classroom!
Funded Feb 1, 2018Thank you for your generous gift to my classroom. Student learning was transformed this school year by the usage of the coding robots Dash and Dot. The project you helped fund allowed students to experience computer programming and engage in practical learning that was enriching. Without your help my students would not have had these experiences!
We were able to program the robots to tell jokes and listen to responses, to make music, and to complete obstacle courses. The students began their computer science learning with basic programming and then they progressed to more complicated code. They also learned how to work collaboratively together as a team. This experience has been a wonderful.

Dashing Right Along! Robotics in the Classroom
Funded Jan 26, 2018I just wanted to thank you all again. Generous donors like you make our computer science dreams a reality. Dash and Dot are robots that are programmed with code to move, record voice, and complete tasks. I have been able to implement them into various 3-5 classes. It has had such a positive impact on our students and their excitement for learning has increased immensely.
We have enjoyed them in multiple ways.
First, we enjoyed programming them together and meeting the challenges of the app that goes with them to complete tasks. It was very engaging and exciting for the class. Next, the students used the Challenge cards to learn new ways to program the robots and complete interesting tasks. Finally, the students created mazes and obstacle courses to challenge themselves and other teams. The students are excited to continue their learning journey while exploring more advanced concepts of coding.
Thank you for making these robots a possibility in our classroom. Using them has been a rich and valuable learning experience.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Monroe
