Help Us Get Lost In Great Books!!!
Funded Dec 4, 2023With your generous support, we were able to add some wonderful series to our classroom library. I believe these books will have a tremendous impact on my students' reading habits. I think these books will benefits students who love reading, as well as, those who are hesitant readers. It will benefit students who are struggling readers and the proficient readers too. I can't wait to see my students dive into these great stories and get lost in them.”

Funded Nov 29, 2023With your help we were able to get this project fully funded. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our class, and the goals we are working on and investing in them. I know my students will enjoy the books that are on the way, but more importantly they will have the opportunity to make gains, develop confidence and become better readers. With improved reading skills, they will be able to perform better in all areas, especially math. You've done a wonderful thing for my students and I am greatly appreciative.”

Funded Nov 24, 2022Thank for your generosity in supporting our classroom and helping us to reset and refocus as we worked to bridge gaps and make progress towards our grade level goals this year. It has been a challenging year for my students many of whom entered third grade below level and others who have had limited support outside of school. Having tactile activities, books on social emotional topics and sensory viewers at our finger tips allowed us to take breaks, pace ourselves, and learn about expressing our feelings in healthy ways. A particular favorite of my students were the sensory viewers. Thank you for contributing to our classroom and helping us make gains towards our goals this year. We are greatly appreciative that you took the time to learn about us and invested in our goals. We have made progress and continue to grow each day and are happy you helped make our journey a little easier. Thank you so much!!!”

Funded Nov 15, 2022Thank you for taking the time to learn about the needs in our classroom and investing in us. We are so appreciative of what you have done.
My students were excited when our math tools came in and love every opportunity they have to use them. They are engaged when they use them and enjoy the wide variety of activities. We already make use of different websites and activities, but these tactile tools help us to change things up, and work together on developing our mastery of our basic facts, addition and subtraction and support us as we work on grade level content as well: addition, multiplication, division, time, and fractions. We will continue to work hard and use these tools to help us achieve our goals.
Thank you for gifting us these wonderful activities.”

Dot, Dot, Dot...
Funded Feb 7, 2019Thank you for choosing our project to invest in. You have done something really wonderful for my students and I and we appreciate it. My students are also impressed by the fact that people who don't know them bought these robots for them to learn how to program.
Each week, 475 students from Kindergarten to grade 5 come to my classroom to learn how to program computers to do what they want them to do and I am happy to say, they have all had a chance to program Dot. Having Dot in the classroom has been a treat for my students across the grades. My younger students have had a chance to work in small groups to plan, write and then see their programs in action. I have enjoyed watching them turn on Dot and begin to program it to change colors, make sounds and respond to their actions.
Initially, my goal was to give my K-2 students a taste of what my older students were already doing and this worked out really well. I thought they would have greater exposure to programming robots, as they worked together to develop their sequencing, problem solving and computational thinking skills. This happened, but what I soon realized was that fourth and fifth grade students could also use Dot to take their programming to the next level and write more sophisticated programs using two robots. These students learned how to program another robot that we have to detect Dot. This opened up a whole set of new programming challenges for us.
What's next for us, well I look forward to adding small drones to our technology library and teaching my students how to program them.
Thank you once again for your generous gift.”
