Catch Up on Reading Skills Due to COVID
Funded Feb 4, 2022The generous donation you have given to my school and I has made a huge impact for our students. This too has been a stressful year for kids. Through art projects they have been able to spend time creating and having fun. This would not have be an option for students if you would not have donated to my Grant.
The students loved the print making supplies. Most of them had never tried this form of art. They enjoyed relaxing, learning about a new form of art and just be kids with no stress.
Once again, Thank you. This has made a difference for over 600 students.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Butikofer
Visual Art is Essential in Classrooms
Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our school in our Art's program. Because of your gift to our art program 650 elementary students are one step closer to a world where every child has access to art supplies. You have made our school a better place.
It brings happiness to my heart to hear students say, "I've never done this before!" or when they can't wait for their turn to come to art again the next time. Art is a tool for learning skills. It also helps with mental health for kids that are struggling with COVID or home problems. Thank you for your donations.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Butikofer

Funded Dec 2, 2020The arts have been proven to enhance learning at all levels. It will improve math and reading skills along with many others. Art uses a different part of the brain and helps students to have a more rounded education. My students and I are so grateful for your donations.
I teach art in a school with a little over 500 students. Our school has never had an art teacher at our school and I was so excited to bring art to the children. Being a new program, there were no supplies or budget.
Thanks to your donations I now have supplies to do weaving, drawing, watercolor and many other art projects. My students love coming to art. It is their favorite part of the day. They love to take what they learned in art and practice it at home. That's how I really know that students have truly embrace art.
Once again thank you so much. You have made an impact on over 500 students this year.”

Funded Sep 16, 2020I, along with all of Rosamond Elementary, would like to thank you for your generous donations. Because of you the students at Rosamond are able to have some wonderful experiences in art. Visual art is a brand new program at our school. Thus, I had no supplies to begin teaching art to the students.
With your donations I was able to buy paint, Clay, and markers. As you can see my students are becoming budding artists. They love coming to class and some make beautiful art work at home and bring it back to school to share with me. That's when a teacher know she is making an impact, when what is taught at school is practiced at home.
Your kindness is greatly appreciated.”

Funded Oct 9, 2019Thank you you for your donations to help my students further their interest in STEM. They enjoy working on the Fairy Tale challenges. I love to watch my students interact with each other and try new ideas when their's is not working.
It is often hard for young students to listen to each other and be willing to try others student's ideas. Young children are very "me" oriented. I have found STEM activities to be a great tool to teach students how to work together and, at the same time develop an interest and knowledge of engineering.
You have made a difference in my students education by providing my class with tools they need to learn and develop skills that are not usually taught as school, due to lack of supplies.”

Mrs. Butikofer
Children + STEM = Coding, Engineering and Fun
Funded Oct 4, 2019My students absolutely love our engineering STEM center. They ask to do STEM daily! I have decide to let them work for an hour of STEM every Friday after lunch and it's all they talk about, "When can we work on STEM."
As they are building and designing I stop in to see how they are doing. I heard a girl in one group say, "I know why Mrs. Butikofer is having us work with others. It is because we need to learn to engineer as a team." I was so excited to hear that not only was it a fun activity but they were also learning some life lesson about working together.
Thank you again for helping my class get excited to learn how to engineer and work together as a team. You have made a difference in my classroom.”

Funded Feb 6, 2019My class and I were so excited when we received our package from Donor's Choose. My students often have struggle expressing their problems correctly. So, when I received the things I ordered, our class began discussing feelings. I chose music, dance and art to help my class understand feelings and appropriate ways to interact with each other.
My class loved the musical instruments and the beautiful books. Thank you. Your generosity has made a difference with this class and will be used for many more to come. Together we are able to teach kids to understand better ways to express their feeling and not by hurting others with words or actions.”

Learning Together About Different Engineering Careers
Funded Dec 31, 2018My students were SO excited when we opened our Take Home STEM backpacks. They love taking them home for the weekends and learning about different jobs that engineers can do.
My students are very interested in engineering. Many of their parents are engineers but my students are now learning that there are many types of engineers and not just what their parents may be.
Each Friday 7 children are able to take home a different engineering back pack. They get to choose from architectural, mechanical, civil, computer, mechanical, aerospace and transportation engineering. It is the most anticipated thing we do on Fridays.
Thanks you so much for your generosity for my class and helping them broaden their knowledge of engineering.”

Engineering, Robotics and STEM, Oh My!
Funded Oct 10, 2018My students and I are so grateful for the opportunity you provided for us to have hands-on experiences with STEM supplies. They have loved building and engineering with Keva planks, Lego's and Magna tiles. They have also absolutely loved working with and programing Ozobots and Cublets. It is such an amazing opportunity for these young children to have such on opportunity to use these thing often in our room. I feel you have made a huge impact on their education. Many of my students have asked Santa for 1 or more of the fun things you provided for them to explore.
Thank you is just not enough to explain our gratitude . This will also impact the many boys and girls I will teach over the next many years.”

Funded Aug 23, 2018Thank you is jut not enough to describe how I feel about your generosity to help my second graders develop and love and understanding for STEM. I set out the magna-tiles, Goldie Blox, Snap Circuit, and Brain Flakes. My students were ecstatic when they saw all of the cool things we now have to use in our STEM centers. We used all the supplies as a whole class for 2 days in a row just to explore and have fun. We will continue to use these supplies for various STEM activities. We will also use them once a week, whole group and during the week, for centers.
Many of my students have asked where I got them because they really want to ask Santa for one for Christmas because it has sparked a new excitement in learning to engineer, build and create things. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Mrs. Butikofer
