Funded Mar 20, 2019I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. Thank you for helping to ensure my students academic success. I can't wait to see the looks on the students faces when this arrives. We can now have fully charged chrome books all day and not have to worry about proper storage and safety.”

Funded Dec 3, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity, the impact you have made on the lives of my students is immeasurable. From the moment they heard of this idea, having "strangers give money for Chromebooks", it seemed like a too good to be true tale. However upon receiving the package, to see their faces and have a student say "wow, people really must care about us learning to give this much money to have computers!" we are so touched.
Within the classroom, Chromebooks are used in various ways. One way they are used is to access the Google classroom apps. Such as Docs which words similarly to Microsoft Word where students can type up their writing assignments. Also they can access other applications such as Slides and Sheets to create presentations and spreadsheets. Secondly, students will have access to Google Classroom which is a virtual classroom similar to Black Board which is used in Higher Education institutions.”

Funded Mar 17, 2018We thank you again for the Chromebooks. They have impacted our students in a variety of ways. Students learning has developed where the use of the Chromebooks has prepared them for the digital world and careers in science, engineering, and math. Students now have access to online resources, in which they can use to answer any question they may have. Students also now have access to popular educational games, that help them utilize and practice their skill in the classroom. The use of technology in the classroom has helped students engage in their own learning in a much more memorable way. The use of the Chromebooks in our classrooms has given us the opportunity, as educators, to broaden the scope of what we are teaching to the students. Having technology in the classroom personalizes our students learning, in which their education can be more tailored to their subject interest, and skill level. It has promoted creative thinking, communication among peers, and collaboration where students can connect with each other. Our students are excited to be able to use this form of technology in all subject matters, and we as teachers are indeed glad to have an opportunity to open another door for learning.”

Motivating Readers in Today's Technological Age
Funded Jan 26, 2016I wanted to thank you for choosing my class and supplying them with Kindle Fires. The students are very excited to use them during our literacy and math centers.
During literacy center time students are able to choose from a menu of activities. Prior to the Kindle Fire, students could only practice reading skills the "old fashioned" way. The Kindle Fire allows them to practice skills using applications that are colorful and often accompanied with music. These skills are practiced as a game which the students love to play. They don't even realize they are learning. The other advantage is they can pick from free sights more books than are available in the classroom. They are no longer limited to the same handful of books on their level.
Many of my students have trouble concentrating for a sustained period of time. The excitement of using the Kindle Fire enables many of these students to sustain their attention even longer. Also, many of my students are English language learners and need visuals in order to solidify the meaning of certain words. The Kindle Fire brings words to life and helps them see the words in a more concrete way.”

Digital Easy to Use Listening Center
Funded Sep 14, 2010First and foremost I would like to apologize for the extremely late update for this funded project. I cannot begin to tell you how great the mp3 players have been working out in my classroom. I have recorded numerous stories onto the players, including our "stories of the week" from our reading curriculum. My students can't wait to get into literacy centers and follow along with the audio version of a story. I have children who never before wanted to read willingly now begging me to get the mp3 players to listen to and read a story. After reading, many of them use the record feature of the players to record and then playback themselves reading the story aloud.
Thank you so much for caring enough about our students to fund this project. It is people like you that make the biggest difference in a child's life.”

Creating Background Knowledge for Emerging Readers
Funded Sep 9, 2009The materials from this project will greatly benefit students in need of background knowledge. Most of these children have no other way or type of support to obtain this type of knowledge. Your donations have made it possible for my students to reach new levels. You really don't know how many children will learn to read, write and comprehend all because of YOU. From the bottom of my heart and with the gratitude of my students, THANK YOU. ”
