• Improving Instruction with a HP Mini-Laptop

  The addition of this HP laptop has already had a major impact of the potential learning of my students who often underachieve due to not having modern technology needed for completing a college-prep curriculum.

• Transforming Video Game Players into Avid Readers

The impact of these novels based on video games is visible already as the majority of my students have shifted from being reluctant readers to being students seeking their next book to read.

  Without your funding of this project, most of my students would not have seen the wonders of reading because they would never have put down the game controller.

• Technological Innovation and Science Fiction

  Thank you for your generous donation of a class set of "Parallel Worlds: A Journey Through Creation, Higher Dimensions, and the Future of the Cosmos " by Michio Kaku, which connects science and science fiction. The impact of this text has already made a powerful impact, as students have begun to independent inquire into aspects of science previously unknown to them. Without your funding of this project, most of my students would not have seen the wonders of science within science fiction films and literature. This project has created a power learning opportunity, which may significantly change their attitudes towards scientific research.

  In addition, the learning that accompanied this book has been able to convince many of my students to choose to apply to college.”

• Using Samurai Novels to Help Students Sharpen Literacy

  of my students. Samurai have a unique way of engaging students. First, I will use these books to improve students' reading skills, and then I will then

  transition them to other types of books outside the genre of samurai sword-fighting adventures. Despite decrease educational budgets

  statewide, I have observed an increase in individuals and organizations

  who have picked up the slack in funding.You are among this generous
