  • Improving Student Literacy With "Ready Player One"

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

It is a breath of fresh air to receive assistance from individuals, such as yourselves, in these times of financial woe.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The smiles on my students faces as they begin their journey through the world of science fiction literature with the dynamic novel by Ernest Cline, "Ready Player One," are encouraging and hopeful.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

And without a doubt, when student eagerly charge through "Ready Player One," it makes me happy to know that with just little help, students' attitudes can change.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G.

  • Teaching Scientific Principles Through Science Fiction!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for your generous donation of a class set of "Physics of the Impossible" by Michio Kaku, which connects science and science fiction.

The impact of this text has already made a powerful impact, as students have begun to independent inquire into aspects of science previously unknown to them. Without your funding of this project, most of my students would not have seen the wonders of science within science fiction films and literature.

This project has created a power learning opportunity, which may significantly change their attitudes towards scientific research. In addition, the learning that accompanied this book has been able to convince many of my students to choose to apply to college.”

    With gratitude,

  • Improving Student Literacy Science Fiction!

    Funded Feb 4, 2017

Thank you for your generous donation of science fiction novels to my classroom. The impact of new and interesting science fiction books has made a dramatic impact already, as students have eagerly devoured book after book. The majority of my students have shifted from being reluctant readers to being students always seeking their next good book. Without your funding of this project, most of my students would still view reading as boring and a chore. You have created a power learning opportunity, which may permanently and positively change their attitudes towards reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G.

  • The Power Of Chromebook Technology In An English Classroom!

    Funded Mar 12, 2016

I consider myself and my students so very fortunate to have received your donation to this project.

This Chromebook has already had a major impact of the learning of my very needy students who often underachieve due to not having modern technology needed for completing a college-prep curriculum.

The future efforts and accomplishments of my students will make you proud and validate the money donated to this project. My students are from very poor families and almost always lacking course supplies and access to computers.

Thank very, very, very, much for funding this project.”
