  • Help My Struggling Readers Read Science Fiction Literature!

    Funded Mar 21, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation of these science fiction novels to my classroom. The impact of new and interesting science fiction books has made a dramatic impact already, as students have eagerly devoured book after book. The majority of my students have shifted from being reluctant readers to being students always seeking their next good book. Without your funding of this project, most of my students would still view reading as boring and a chore. You have created a power learning opportunity, which may permanently and positively change their attitudes towards reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G.

Our school has had to make numerous difficult decisions in response to the dramatic downturn in the state and national economy, but your contribution is quite definitely the only shining ray of light in these dark days of fiscal recession. Before being funded with your help through Donors Choose, I feared that there would be no opportunities to support student learning. However, you have proved my fears to be without merit. You have given me hope, which I have been able to pass on to my students. And, my students will take this hope with them when they graduate.

This learning event has been able to convince many of my students to choose to apply to college. Some will need to begin in junior college, but some are eager to immediately go to a four year university.
