We do a brain break in the middle of our long afternoons. I wondered what could I do to give them opportunities to move throughout the day but not miss out on learning? I purchased a pedal exerciser and students took turns using it throughout the day. Then I was open to anything that gave them the opportunity to MOVE & LEARN and here I am. Students shared, "We learn BEST when we get out energy out!" Allowing my students to choose how they want to move and learn will be a great opportunity for them. Exercise balls will allow them the freedom to bounce and balance while learning. The pedal exercise will allow them to get energy out while still using their time wisely. Wobble chairs will allow them to move around and still focus on task. All of these wonderful options will support student voice and choice while optimizing the precious time that we have together.
