  • Learning Classroom Aesthetic

    Funded May 24, 2024

I want to take this time to thank everyone who was a part of funding this project. The Projector Cart has been a wonderful asset to my classroom and my student's learning experience. This has allowed me to teach while standing or moving around the classroom. My students are also able to project their work and findings from any location from my classroom.. Thank you is too simple for the appreciation we have for you.

The hanging lights has definitely brought a calm aesthetic to my classroom. Lights are dim and inviting. My student have felt at ease and comfortable doing their math. I am one proud Math Educator!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Galindo

  • Hands on Math

    Funded May 7, 2024

My class assisted me in unboxing our new materials and had a wonderful time doing so. It felt like Christmas. I have applied the filters to all our florescent lights, and let me tell you that it make a big difference. My class is at a dimmed light, and a calming effect.

We also set up the pencils, erasers, pencil dispenser, and manipulatives. It is the end of this school year but my future students will have an enriched learning experience all thanks to you. Educators like me are extremely grateful for generous donors like yourselves. A million thank yous would not suffice.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Galindo

  • Colorful Math

    Funded May 10, 2024

Bringing in a colored printer to my classroom has been one of the biggest tools my students have dependent on. From colored anchor charts that differentiate graphs and data with color, to publishing their work on my walls, it has all made a difference.

We would also like to thank Young Sheldon for doubling all our donors contributions. Not only does the show convey real life scenarios that apply mathematics to every single day, it also motivates students to be knowledgeable and interested in all math.

    Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Galindo

  • Restocking Basics!

    Funded Dec 7, 2022

From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank you for your contributions. My students have all the materials needed in this math class to continue growing and learning. From the pencils, tape, markers, post-it's and many more materials that were collected, we have been equipped with the tools we need in this class. Donor's like you make the difference. Teachers cannot afford to continuously replenish the materials our of their pockets. Donors Choose is such a great organization and opportunity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Galindo

  • Headphones and a Colored Printer

    Funded Nov 15, 2022

Teaching through technology imbedded curriculum has enhanced the learning experience for both teachers and students. However, because we are paving through new territories we become knowledgeable of some obstacles students face.

Students are able to complete many activities that incorporate student discovery as a primary source of learning. It allows students to explore and build connections with the maths we are learning. One of the biggest issues is that they all need to listen to audio, and they do not all have headphones. The headphones that you have provided has allowed my students to concentrate without any distractions. They are able to put their undivided attention on the material they are learning.

Lastly, the colored printer has arrived and is being shared by the entire math department in my middle school campus. We have been able to provide students with colored notes that help compare and contrast data.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Galindo

  • Sanitation Station

    Funded Aug 25, 2021

The materials for this project has made a giant impact in the learning process for my students. The white board has been the biggest contribution to participation thus far. Not only do I have a reward system in place for students who participate, it allows for us to see their thinking process, and for other students to see a differentiated concept demonstration.

The cube storage shelves have also brought organization to my classroom. Students now have a place to pick up materials if they ever need to. In these shelves we store pencils, markers, paper, extra face masks, glove and colors. Students can freely collect any item they need, in my class we do not worry about resources we focus on learning. Thank you all for making this possible for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Galindo

  • Classroom Basics

    Funded May 29, 2021

You will be happy to hear that my 6th graders are using their newest supplies to full effect. From the white board chalk markers to solve problems on the board, to the calculators when working on orders of operation.

On another note, one of the greatest issues I had with my in person students has been providing all my students with a charging station to continue our blended learning. Charging their laptops has always been and issue and now with the extension cords that is not a problem.

My students no longer struggle with the distractions they faced before. Not having somewhere to charge their laptop, not having pencils or erasers, not having graphing paper or highlighters. My heart is so full and happy, people with hearts like yours make the biggest impact in the world. My children are inspired that they meant enough to strangers, that this project was funded for them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Galindo

  • Equipping Mathletes With Tools.

    Funded May 17, 2021

I want to start off by reminding you that my students and I appreciate each and every one of you and your donations. The XY coordinate dry erase graphs have become a daily used tool. My students have increased their mathematical concepts of equations, plots, quadrants and are now understanding area and perimeter as well. Another item that has become a often used tool are the dry erase pockets. This has allowed me to print less worksheets and given the students a more engaging way to do their work. We went as far as playing math bingo (with multiplication of integers) as a refresher and the pockets made the process clean, easy and fun.

As a first year teacher I spent a lot of my time trying to incorporate as much hands on activities as possible, but with COVID and virtual learning that has been difficult. With the base ten blocks I am able to project the manipulation of equations using the tiles, and my students follow along.

Once again, thank you so much for making this project possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Galindo

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them tools for hands-on, project-based instruction. This will increase their self-motivation and stimulate their critical thinking skills. Learning math through student-centered approaches should be equally available for all students, help me fund the materials to produce higher levels of understanding. My students find joy in the self-discovery process and you can help be a part of their learning by choosing to help fund this project. The dry-erase graph boards will provide my students the ease of manipulating graphs without worrying about having pencils or papers. The manipulatives will help them form a concrete understanding of strategies and concepts.
