  • Multicultural Books Are Needed!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Thank you so much for your kind donation helping my project of diverse and multicultural books get funded. My students are a diverse population and love reading books that are like them. It means the world to me to present them with a collection of fiction and non fiction books that they can related too.

Currently we are remote learning but I will read these books to my students as read aloud until we get back to school. I have 24 third graders that love to read.

Again thank you so much for being apart of my student's lives and making a difference in their lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Varela

  • Two Screens are Better One!

    Funded Nov 13, 2020

Remote teaching is so difficult for everyone, students, parents and teachers. Not having all the techy tools while remote teaching can only lead to disaster. Having another computer monitor is a game changer. I can now see all my students at the same time while sharing my google slides or sharing a math videos. I can see if they are raising their hands or if they have left our meet.

I am so very grateful for the donors who fully funded this project. I'm looking forward to remote teaching now. It's so much easier.”

  • Investigate The Solar System With A Laptop

    Funded May 5, 2020

I'm so excited that our classroom project was fully funded. Now I have an updated brand new laptop for my students to use as we continue to do remote learning. Students needed laptops to use daily at home as we began remote learning. While I did have enough laptops for my third graders, some laptops were very old and very slow which made it difficult for my students to complete their assignments. Having this new laptop will help my students complete all required assignments. I'm so very grateful for donors like you who care so much about my students and their academic success!”

  • Earbuds Needed

    Funded Jun 9, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity. My project was fully funded because of you. My students especially right now working at home need earbuds. It's hard enough to listen to me on line but when they are at home with other noise makes it impossible to concentrate. However now all my students can use their brand new earbuds daily as we remote learn. This will help tremendously. Students will now only hear my voice as I explain new third grade concepts.

Remote learning is hard for everyone, students, their families and the teachers, now all my students will have an advantage using their earbuds while listening to use me.”

  • Virtual Summer School!

    Funded Jul 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation helping my project get fully funded. My students are so lucky to be able to participate in our remote learning summer school with their own laptops.

We are studying great black leaders, researching female leaders and latinx contributions to the world.

My students now have an updated laptop to participate in our remote learning. Without your generous donation, my students would not be able to participate this summer. This has been such a very difficult school year. My students and I are learning new ways or teaching and learning.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are amazing and will share the news with my class.”

  • Remote Learning Supplies

    Funded May 6, 2020

Hooray my project, Remote Learning supplies was fully funded by you. I'm so grateful for your generous donation. These supplies will help my students continue to learn over the summer.

I purchased geoboards which allows my students to create geometric shapes like parallelograms, quadrilateral, and polygons. I also believe art is an important part of a child's learning and creativity, that said, I purchased watercolors and construction paper so they can create watercolor art. They can create an abstract painting to help destress.”

  • Alvin Ho, We Need Your Book!

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

We are so grateful for your generous donation towards our class set of Alvin Ho books. My students are just getting started with chapter books. It's so wonderful to see them excited about a book.

We get into small groups and read the chapters then we ask questions about the chapter. Later on we will change the ending of some chapters. We will also share our class set of book with the other third grade classes in our school. The best part is I can keep them for next year and the year after that and so on.”

  • New Laptop Needed

    Funded Jan 21, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students and I are so very grateful for your thoughtful donation. As my students began to use the new laptop, they were amazed how fast it was. They have already began their science research reports. They work in partners to research plant and animal cells. The screen is clear and very vivid. They also will be able to print out their reports using our new laptop.

We can use this updated brand new laptop for years to come. My students are overjoyed!”

  • Laptop Needed for Science!

    Funded Dec 7, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation and helping my Donor Choose project get fully funded.

My students were so overjoyed when I told them, we got a brand new computer from very generous people who care very much about your future academic success.

We will use this updated laptop daily for ST math. This is a computerized math program designed for each student's academic level. Our students must also work on IReady which is also an educational app for reading. Having an updated laptop will help my students complete their assignments quickly therefore getting more work done.”

  • Alvin Ho Is Where Are You?

    Funded Sep 24, 2019

I feel so blessed to know donors like you care so much about my students education.

They love to read but we don't have many updated grade level class sets of books. This book is funny and it's at a third grade level, perfect for my students.

We will read the book as a read aloud and answers questions about each chapter. We will have small groups in which they read it together and make questions for the other students to answer. This book is also an accelerated reader book, which means they take a reading comprehension tests and get 1.5 points.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Varela

We are a K-6 school. I teach third grade. My students come from a low socioeconomic background. They have limited life experiences and are at-risk students, but I know they are bright and capable of doing anything. They are eager to learn. They come to school daily with smiles on their faces with daily homework completed, waiting to learn. I am so proud of them and how hard my students work each day. For this reason I am hoping I can get one laptop for my class.
