  • Seat Sacks And Flexible Balls, Students’ Delights!

    Funded Dec 11, 2018

I am deeply appreciative of your assistance in funding my classroom project. At this present moment, my students are sitting at desks with no places to store their materials. This has been a real hardship on them. The flexible balls will go a long way in helping them focus as we go through the rigors of the day. Thank you donors and Donors Choose for making this need a reality. I compliment you avidly for taking such a profound interest in the needs of inner city students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. G.

  • Classroom Supplies for a Successful Year

    Funded Sep 20, 2018

I cannot express my appreciation enough for your funding of my classroom project. I can't tell you how many pencils my class has already gone through and how badly I need that easel to work with small groups. This is an absolute dream come true and I thank you and Donors Choose for making all of this possible for my class. People and organizations like yours that care about the needs of kids who are are less fortunate than others are some of the reasons we do what we do. I will keep forging on to make my class the best it can be because of your support. A million thanks to all of you!”

  • Improving the Classroom Experience Through Comfortable Seating

    Funded Sep 20, 2018

It is with profound appreciation that I accept these gifts on behalf of my class. My students will now have greater options for seating as they engage in independent reading or other activities. Such wonderful acts of kindness and generosity go a long way in making the classroom experience a great one. Thank you so much for thinking about the needs of students in low income schools and students with special needs. I care because I know that I'm not alone, that there are people like you out there who care as well. Thank you for caring and sharing!”

  • Flash Drives and Headphones for Careful Saving and Listening.

    Funded Dec 20, 2016

With great appreciation, I accept these wonderful gifts on behalf of my students. My students, despite their many challenges, are a caring bunch. They love learning and it is imperative on me to make learning as much fun for them as possible. With the flash drives and headphones they are able to complete amazing things. No longer do they have to say, "I saved my work but I can't find it anymore!". Once they are working on a project or an essay they have their own drives which they utilize effectively. With the headphones, my students are able to work independently and quietly. They are no longer interrupted by the loud sounds or songs that may be coming for another person's computer.

Thank you immensely for making my students more technologically aware. They love their gifts and take good care of them. Thank you for caring about the needs of inner city students, many of whom just crave an opportunity to learn and the resources to make them as successful as they can be. Thank you for sharing. You are the best!”

  • Effective Classroom Tools: Teachers' and Students' Delights!

    Funded Sep 22, 2016

My class and I are immensely grateful to you. You have made teaching and learning so much easier. The rubber maid organizer is a delightful tool as students know exactly where to place and find their homework. Everyday we use markers in our class. My students use them for all their art work and projects. I use them in the creation of chart tablets where color coding is essential, especially for visual learners. What can I say about the pencils and sharpener? They have come in so handy and students know that pencils are always there at their disposal. Gone is the "I can't find my pencil syndrome". We use the post its daily, especially during close reading exercises. But one of the most valuable items is the copy paper. I am constantly making homework packages for my students or creating exercises in all subject areas. Additionally my students are frequently working on projects. For all of this, I need a steady supply of paper which you have so generously donated. I cannot express enough appreciation to you for all that you have done for my class. Together, with Donors Choose, you have impacted significantly the educational process in my classroom. Thank you sincerely for sharing. Thank you for caring about the educational needs of inner city students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. G.

  • Keys to a Lifestyle of Health and Wellness!

    Funded Aug 3, 2016

I am so grateful for the generous contributions you have made towards this worthwhile project. My students are delighted with their gifts of fitness trackers and infusion water bottles. Some of them bring their bottles to school daily. My goal is to get my students excited about healthy living. They know how important it is for them to drink water daily.

Thank you for making this a reality. I know that there are many, many projects out there to which you can donate. I am truly honored that you have chosen ours. My students are defined by the effort they give each day and not by their disabilities. I am happy to know that there are people out there like you who truly want to help and are always willing to make the lives of inner city students better. I have seen such tremendous growth in my students so far this year. When they realize that there are people other than their immediate family, who are interested in their welfare and development, they want to try even harder. It is great to be associated with an organization such as Donors Choose, which makes the process of teaching and learning that much easier. Thank you immensely for caring and sharing.”

  • Keys to a Lifestyle of Health and Wellness Part 11

    Funded Aug 16, 2016

Many, many thanks to you for your generous donations which funded my class' project. The students were overjoyed to have received their gifts of water bottles and fitness trackers. These were special gifts indeed, because they have started the students and me on a journey towards healthy eating habits and fitness. My students are more interested now in drinking water and having fruits and vegetables as snacks. They are serious about physical exercise. Thank you so much for caring about their needs. It is truly wonderful to know that you considered our project among so many to give donations.

My students are great and like all students everywhere, they like receiving gifts. But for them, these gifts are very special because they know that there are people out there who are keenly interested in their physical development, and by extension, their academic development as well. I know that they will treasure these special gifts, and as their teacher, I am grateful for every moment I have with them. Thank you for making us happy!”

  • Bare Essentials: Copy Machine with Toner and Paper!

    Funded Mar 30, 2016

To each and everyone of you who so readily donated to our classroom project, thank you immensely. Having a copy machine at our disposal has truly been a blessing. There were earlier times when I literally scrambled to get homework packages, classwork activities, games or pictures ready for my lessons because either there was no toner, the copy machine had broken down or there were simply too many people on the waiting line. You have collaborated together to make the effort of teaching and learning much less cumbersome. Our days are generally jam packed with our various events and activities. It is really nice to know that if J need an extra copy in an emergency, or a student needs to redo a paper for some reason a copy machine is at hand. We use the paper not only for copies but to create art work, to make student books and a host of other things. My class and I are eternally grateful to you for being so considerate of our needs. We know that there are people in our society who truly care and your generosity speaks volumes. My students are happy for these special gifts and when they are happy, so am I. Once again, a million thanks!”

I teach a class of 12 amazing students all with varying levels of disabilities. I am knowledgeable of them all, having taught or serviced all of them in previous years. They have incredible skills and talents, not in the conventional way, but in ways that will bring warmth to your heart and inspire you to want to give them your very best. I am always eager to find innovative and exciting ways to encourage their leaning and make them happy that they are in my classroom. My students are not defined by their disabilities but by the effort they put forth each day. For them and me as well, it's not always easy as each day brings new and unexpected challenges. But when at the end of the day, one student can say "I don't want to go home because I had so much fun in school today", I am happy to know that the learning experience has been the best of the best for them. When they are happy so am I.
