These materials will give students more hands-on activities and increase their skill level of concepts already taught. It is important to have young learners active in stations during Guided Reading or Guided Math time. They are learning to cooperate with other students; sharing, taking turns, talking and listening, helping one another. The more hands-on and less paper work, the better for this age. Students are learning sight word recognition each day, letters and sounds of the alphabet, blending sounds to make words. These are skills needed in order to become good readers and ready for 1st grade.
