The Truth is you guys made my day!

As I sat here this morning opening the mail, I came across your generous donation. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support for our life changing work with some of New York City's most vulnerable teens.

In creating our donorschoose page, our goal is to provide our students a positive activity to do after school, among friends in a safe and friendly environment. Since our teams inception in 2014 we have served nearly 80 students ages 13-19, mostly from lower income households, where their families are either struggling to get by or experiencing the hardships of mothers, fathers, and even siblings living apart from one another, many times in another country. They end up in our schools with a variety of needs, often times not speaking the language, having any family near, or sometimes sharing living quarters with relative strangers. Our students are immigrants and minorities, many who come with very little by way of money or experience and need something to keep them motivated and excited to keep coming to school everyday.

We love them all the same, and so we decided to create a baseball team that will allow them to develop bonds with others who have similar interest, on a baseball diamond where the grass is always green and it isn't over until the fat lady sings. Your generous donation will go a long way to helping us, provide this safe space.

Thank you! You have made a real difference in the lives of the teens we serve, once again for your donation. It means the world to us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ceballos

When I was hired as a social studies teacher at The Williamsburg High school for Arts & Technology in Brooklyn, New York in the fall of 2014, we didn't have a baseball team. I didn't really understand why. Perhaps it was because we're a small school that shares our building with two other excellent schools, The Brooklyn Latin school and Lyons Community school, that a baseball team never got off the ground. Nevertheless, it dawned on me that this was my chance to do something I both love and could share with our students after school in safe and caring environment. Our mission in establishing this page is to get our boys the gear they need to be successful on the field, and for that we need your help. Please donate to our cause and thanks for the love.
