Dry Erase Markers Help Everyone
Funded Jul 27, 2023I want to thank you so much for your interest and care in the education of my students. Being able to assure them that we have plenty of markers and protectors for their desktop nameplate/tool provided smiles that filled the room.
We use our dry erase makers on a daily basis, for math, art, writing and for no reason at all but because it's just fun to use a white board. Constructively, the students are gaining much experience in creating math equations and models. It's wonderful to see them verbalizing their thought processes to explain the models and their answers.
We can even use the protectors with the dry erase markers!
Thank you, donors.”

Funded Aug 8, 2021Thank you for the funds to accomplish getting my project funded. The students are utilizing the products and I slowly see the positive impact of their use. Because they are first graders and since we just came out of a pandemic distance learning setting, the classroom management is difficult. More so for some.
At initial introduction the students were confused as to whether the seat cushions were a reward or consequence or who knows what. As soon as the first few students were asked to use the cushion it was obvious why they were chosen. Quickly, however, they could see that the cushions were a helping tool for some AND a reward for others.”

Teaching in the New Paradigm
Funded May 9, 2020Thank you for your generous contributions and thoughtfulness to help fulfill this Donors Choose project during a time of unknowns and uncertainties.
With the new document camera and distance learning challenges, the device has made instruction so much clearer for the visual components of teaching. The document camera has also allowed for planning video and lessons incorporating reading books, math demonstrations as well as writing modeling.
Although we were not able to get the device you all were expecting due to planning and expediting mistakes out of my control, I was still lucky to receive a top rated device from the same company.”

Funded Nov 26, 2018The addition of our new laptop has put many of my students at ease. No longer am I having to reboot, shut down and restart or just move on to something else because of no audio. With so many of today's learners being visual learners it is imperative to be able to utilize multimedia.
Our new computer is also equipped with the latest software and fast processing allowing my students to have a positive experience with technology.
So many of the curriculum programs I use are technology based, the MacBook Pro gives my students and I confidence we can run all programs to the best of their ability.”

Funded Aug 24, 2017Thank you again for your generous donations. The students eagerly watched with wonder as I opened the delivery box and then started clapping as I passed out their new supplies. My students have been using their new whiteboards and markers everyday with great enthusiasm.
During our math block of time the students enjoy the easy use of the whiteboards to help them draw pictures and number sentences to solve mathematical problems.
Students often ask if they may use their whiteboards when finished with their work. What I see being created during those times is amazing self expression and artistic fun.”

A Marker in Every Hand Can Make A Difference
Funded Jul 17, 2016Dear donors,
My students were elated when they learned that they would have no worry about the possibility of not having a dry erase marker when the one in their desk dried up, or for whatever reason stopped working. The world won't cease to turn I told them.
Starting on the first day of school the children learned that their dry erase board and the new markers would be a learning tool as well as an outlet for self expression. The students were asked to show various numbers from 1 to 120. They experienced drawing a picture to show a mathematical expression. At the end of the day the students had a few minutes to draw whatever they felt like utilizing their whiteboard and markers as their voice...not a sound was to be heard.
Next up, language arts and science...”

Dry-Eraser Markers In Need of Students!
Funded Jun 4, 2015Thank you again so much for your kind contributions. My students enjoy using their dry erase markers every day. Whether it's for math, for fun, or for any other subject, the markers are invaluable. If a students marker dries up or is lost or just plain doesn't work there's no crying there's no worrying, the students know that we have ample supply throughout the year.
When I tell the students to take out their whiteboards and markers they know that they will be doing something that is fun. Your consideration and understanding of the needs of the students are very heartfelt and greatly appreciate it”

Fall Prep Before Summer Marker Mayhem!
Funded Jul 1, 2014My students love to use their whiteboards and dry erase markers. As first graders having a marker that drys out can be upsetting. Knowing that their teacher has enough supplies for them diminishes disappointment.
Whether the students are doing free drawing, grammar, or math, the whiteboards and markers allow them to express themselves and show what they know. Its always amazing to me how unique writing something as simple as the number nine can be amplified using a different medium like a whiteboard. The boards and markers allow for individualism. Mistakes are okay, try again.
Your individual contributions are greatly appreciated.”

Things to Listen to at Our Listening Center
Funded Nov 13, 2013My students are really enjoying their new reading and listening materials. They listen over and over and never seem to tire of the books. For many of the kids this is the first time they have had an opportunity to listen with headphones to something they like.
The listening center has become a focus of the classes attention and aided in motivating them to complete the academic tasks associated with the chance to listen and read. From a drawing of a dinosaur to a character web of a story, or just answering some verbal questions, the listening materials have given the students enjoyment in their learning.”

A Mind Opening Listening Center
Funded Aug 13, 2013Thank you so much for helping to fund this project! My students are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new materials to be added to their listening center. They really enjoy being able to listen to the many different types of music, stories, and academic content available in an audio format.
For many, they will have no exposure to literature, music, science or any informational type of material outside of school. Expanding the choices and subjects for the students to choose from makes them very happy and motivated to learn.
My goal is to inspire lifelong learners. These materials will definitely help the children on their way to achieve this.”
