We Play in Pre-K!
Funded Oct 12, 2024Thank you for helping to bring fun play to my Pre-K program! We are currently in our study of balls, and the kids are loving the balls we received through this donation.
We will soon be studying vehicles and the magnetic vehicle building set is already a big hit! The apple and tree activities were perfect for Fall, and will be used and loved by my students for years to come.
The doll carriage and highchair, along with the pretend coffee maker, have helped to round out our dress-up and dramatic play center. I love watching my students act as parents at Starbucks!
Thank you for your generosity and kindness!”

Funded May 4, 2021Thank you all so much for helping me to fund my donors choose project "Kindergarten Friends Together On Line". The students and I are very thankful for your generously and
thoughtfulness !
The project has helped me in so many ways. Due to the pandemic it is imperative to have additional technology in the classroom and at home. This allows me to provide online assignments as well as colorful images to help with instruction for my students. In addition, I am able to have better communication with the parents by sharing photos, curriculum goals and students growth socially, emotionally and cognitively throughout the school year.
It is because of special people like you that I am able to have all these opportunities for my students. This project being funded has allowed me to provide the best possible education for all of my students. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! Stay safe!”

Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for helping me to fund my project, "I Never Thought I would be Teaching From My Kitchen". I was so overwhelmed and I didn't know how I was going to meet the needs of educating my students without the proper technology. I needed to be able to have google meets daily so the students and I could see each other which helped them feel more comfortable and secure during this unknown time!
Words can not express how grateful I was for having this project funded! It made a very scary time a little easier for both my students and myself! Again, my deepest gratitude for helping me fund my project! Stay safe!”

Funded Nov 15, 2019My students LOVE these Magna-Tiles! They would play and explore with them all day long if I allowed them.
We are currently studying a unit about transportations. My creative students are using the Magna-Tiles to create bridges, tunnels, and even hangars, to house their cars, trucks and planes!
I am looking forward to our next units on water and light, to see what they can imagine and create!
I am forever grateful to you for your generosity in helping to bring these amazing hands-on materials for purposeful play for my wonderful prekindergarten boys and girls!”

Mrs. Gargano
It's All About (the sense of) Touch
Funded Apr 17, 2019My students are using the new resources everyday. They are so excited to play and be able to learn using their senses. They are creating many different structures and projects using these sensory object. They are using it to build up their fine motor skills.
When they first saw the materials, they were all ecstatic to play with it all. It is something different in my classroom and they were excited to play with something new.
From using the sensory toys, students will be able to learn the letters. The sensory dough allows for the students to re create the letters in a 3-D format as opposed to traditionally writing it on paper. By being able to create the letters in a 3-D format, it will help support the student's literacy skills. Secondly, the students are able to use the sensory toys to build up their math skills because they will be able to use the toys to represent mathematical operations in a more concrete format.
With the sensory materials, the students are able to have fun while expanding their learning opportunities in the classroom.”

Funded Apr 10, 2019My students and I are using the Magna-Tiles everyday! The students really enjoy creating different creations. The students create buildings, air crafts, space ships and multi-functional cars just to name a few. The students discuss the different shapes that are used in their creations with focus on their similarities and different characteristics.
My students reaction was priceless! They were so excited when they saw the boxes of Magna-Tiles. The students could not wait to start designing different creations. They were amazed by how the tiles stayed together and allowed them to create a variety of open-ended designs.
Our next steps for my students are taking what we learned about 2-D shapes and using the Magna-Tiles to introduce to the students the concept of 3-D shapes. Based on their understanding of squares and triangles, we are able to introduce 3-D figures such as cubes, rectangular prisms, and triangular prisms using the Magna-Tiles.
Having the Magna-Tiles allowed for my students to have fun while expanding their learning opportunities in the classroom.”

On the Go in Pre-K!
Funded Feb 3, 2019I can't begin to explain how much my students love our new Microsoft Surface Go computer! We were exploring it's capabilities and somehow wound up activating the camera and taking silly selfies! So.much.fun!
I have students who want to practice typing on the keyboard, others who love drawing right on the screen with the stylus, and still others who are using educational apps that I have been able to download.
Having this awesome new technology on our pre-k classroom has opened up lots of avenues for discovery, creativity, and independence in their work.
Your generosity is totally appreciated!”
