See Something Say Something, Violence Prevention is Key
Funded Feb 26, 2023Empowered and proud is what this project gave my Peer Counselors. Within two school days all five hundred and twenty 6th graders were trained on Say Something which is a violence prevention initiative. The students were trained on three simple yet important steps. One: Look for warning signs, signals & threats. Two: ACT immediately. Take it seriously. Three: Say something to a trusted adult. we will get better at reducing violence, threats & tragic consequences creating a safer healthier schools and communities.
The supplies provided gave my students the opportunity to bond together as they designed, personalized, and created their shirts in my office the week prior to the presentations. They wore them proudly on the days of the presentations and our now able to use them as part of their school uniform shirts which is a wonderful reminder to all our students about the important safety message See Something Say Something.”

Basic Supplies Aren't Always Basic
Funded Jan 6, 2023The donations received will go a long way with our students that are in our Up-Start program. This program is for students that are in transition which means they are living in a shelter, cars or with others due to financial reasons.
Many students take school supplies for granted but not these. Having our boutique stocked with everything they need is a blessing for their academics and personal well being. The students have already been alerted about our new stock and have began coming by and picking up supplies.
Some of our newest students in the programs are new to our country and have nothing. For these new comers we are preparing book bags and filling them with all of these supplies including toiletries.
This is only possible thanks to your generosity.”

They each designed and painted their canvas to their liking. After a few minutes of drying their projects they attached the vinyl and fairy lights to complete their reminder that they too can be the light for themselves and others.
Every single year my students continue to amaze me as their kindness shine through in everything we do.
